On the surface, I could see a
Blake's 7 reboot working and I would go as far as saying an actual reboot (as opposed to the often misused meaning of a continuation) would be preferable. The show's iconic ending stands the test of time and despite various media continuing the story beyond it (including Paul Darrow's own trilogy and Big Finish's similar take), I believe the show should remain with that dark conclusion intact.
But, as already noted, we've been here before so we'll see if it actually happens. I'm also encouraged by the
Andor comments.
On a side note, that Deadline article takes a lot of swipes at
Doctor Who, even outside of Hoar's understandable comments.
I did know that there was an reboot audio series, although I've never heard it so I don't know how good or bad it was.
There have been two different audio series. The first was by B7 Productions which recast all of the characters. I've never listened to them so I can't comment on their quality but I've heard they weren't all that good.
The second was by Big Finish (who has done magnificent work with
Doctor Who since 1999) which managed to get most of the then-living cast back (including Paul Darrow, Jacqueline Pearce, and Gareth Thomas). I've listened to most of those and they range from enjoyable to fantastic. With the small aforementioned exception, all of them are set during the series.
