After a brief moment of thinking about it, I've gone for First Contact. I certainly love TUC, and TWOK, and I'll go as far as to say I really love Generations too, but I tend to view Generations as feeling like a finale to TNG, whilst First Contact was such a rush. Here's Picard, facing the Borg again, nearly losing himself to his rage, against a backdrop of the most pivotal moment in Star Trek's history. It was amazing.

I have to give an honourable mention to Star Trek 09, the opening scene was as glorious as anything Star Trek has done, but First Contact takes it.

I am not a fan of TWOK (I really like parts of it, but not the sum of all the parts), but I very much liked your "tap dancing" description. @Tallguy

My vote this round goes to STAR TREK III: THE SEARCH FOR SPOCK again. As well as the previous reasons I gave, I love this film because of how much it opened up the Star Trek Universe. The designs it introduced (ships, costumes etc.) are still around 40 years later!

TUC again for me.

I'm due for another attempt to get into TWOK. I just cannot get into this movie! But the number of times I've TRIED to love it like everyone else does! Every few years, I'm like, OK, I'm going to forget my previous dissatisfaction, and I'm going to go in fresh, and this time I'll get into it. And, so far, I never do.

But I recently finished the Khan pod, so that seemed like a perfect moment to rewatch "Space Seed" and TWOK. Maybe this time! One of these days it'll click.

I am very happy TMP was the first to be saved. Now it's my pleasure to be the fourth vote for WRATH OF KHAN, which saves it and starts another round. I agree with the previous poster who said there's TMP and TWOK and then everything else.

Probably my most unpopular Star Trek opinion is that Section 31 (which is terrible) is a better watch than TWOK.

There's unpopular and then there is crazy. But you certainly know your own mind. What do I know? I love Thor: The Dark World.

I'd imagine that this is where the voting is going to get a lot less direct. (My GUESS is that this will be a TUC vs. FC show down.)

I love The Search for Spock. I really do. But I'll give my next vote to The Voyage Home. It's a beautiful looking film and it does everything it sets out to do. And honestly? The scene with Sarek and Spock is not nearly as legendary as it should be.

I've recently started to hear opinions that the "good" parts of the movie are all the Nicholas Meyer section in the 20th century. I think that (for whatever reason) some of my favorite time in the 23rd Century Federation is in this film. Perhaps it's that wonderful mid-80's ILM SHINE.

Oh, and: The SCORE for The Voyage Home is WONDERFUL. And the most like a TOS episode. So. There.

Voting ST III this round.

It truly is an ensemble piece for the crew, and truly shows the brotherhood and sense of family this crew has for each other.

Shatner really nailed it after the death of David. And the death of the Enterprise was such a gut punch... that truly hurt us fans. Deeply emotional movie.

And A LOT of the ships, and the starbase, that get used countless times in the franchise make their debut here. On that basis alone, this might be the one single movie that made the biggest impact on the franchise.
