Rings of Power S3/Hunt for Gollum Anticipation and JRR Tolkien Discussion thread

That would be a preferred way to do it.
I'm kinda wishing they'd use the actors from Thing Rings of Power for characters like a younger Gandalf if they need one, Elrond, Galadriel, ect., but I know the show is in it's own separate universe so there's pretty much no chance of that happening.

A de-aged Ian McKellen plus a de-aged Elijah Wood plus a recast Aragorn should be an... uh, interesting combination:

I have to keep an eye out for that on Libby, I'm pretty sure they get Empire.

It seems incomprehensible to me that we haven't gotten this long before now, but here we are...

I stumbled on it yesterday...and it was such a damn delight.

I've been critical of Honest Trailers in the last few years (with a few notable, deserving exceptions) but the fact that this video is completely positive is a testament of how fantastic and beloved The Fellowship of the Ring remains.

The Two Towers is up:

Not as good as the first one (I could've done without the Epstein files reference), but still wonderfully silly.

And to complete the trilogy!

Just as good as the first one with lots of wonderful jokes...and sneaks in two Doomsday gags.

When this series first came out, I struggled to finish the first three episodes because of the extreme heat. After that, I didn't watch it for a long time. Then, as the second season approached, I decided to watch it again from beginning to end. I finished the first episode with great difficulty. I played the other episodes in a side tab while looking at something else on my computer. I think it's a very bad show.

For me, even the Harfoot stuff wasn't terrible, it just felt very disconnected from everything else going on. My only real issue with that whole storyline is the unfortunate decision they made with the Stranger, but we'll see how it goes from here.

I've pretty much enjoyed all of the storylines in both seasons. I'm curious where they're going with Gandalf now that they seem to have written out the Harfoots.
I noticed a while back that Maxim Baldry isn't included in the cast list for Season 3, do we know why? His storyline seemed pretty open still at the end of Season 2, and with him being such an important person in Middle Earth history, I find it hard to believe they're not going to be dealing him anymore on the show. Could one of the new cast members be a recast version of him maybe?
