So, season three was ... well, it happened, that's for sure.
Little to no progress, more mysteries set up not answered; the lame change in Rev's appearance which while in real life was due to the make up and his health, still makes no sense since it was only for a small PART of the episode and he did not return as a crew member; sudden additional crew that appeared with no prior explanation, obviously from the new Commonwealth command, but it was not mentioned in advance and there was no greeting episode, especially when Beka says one is a good friend (since WHEN???).
Then there is the massively disappointing and lackluster season three finale, that felt rushed, bloated with zero pay off, and was emotionally empty. If it wasn't for the brief Tyr scenes around the end (and one good exchange, covered below), there would have been nothing there. If anything, the finale threw away everything that was set up for an action series next season. felt like I had wasted three seasons and got nothing in return, then lost a key member of the crew in the process due to behind-the-scenes fuckery.
I got the strong sense with everybody's interactions and the general look on Kevin's face and demeanor, that things had fallen apart already behind the scenes and they knew that was a death-nail turning point in the series. It didn't just affect the cast, you could see somebody didn't like a lot of things in general, and changed special effects to entirely new ones, changes weapons colors to different colors, changed the slipstream vortex appears COMPLETELY, and sudden new weapons that were not there before. And now Andromeda has endless weapons like the U.S.S. voyager; before hand on multiple occasions she had to tell them they had a limited supply, were running out, needed time and supplies to make more, they didn't just get pulled out of her butt at will.
