The Mandalorian and Grogu (2026)

I'd have preferred a fourth season instead of a movie or two (next summers and the supposed Mando-Ashoka-culminating one), even if the primary protagonists weren't the main focus anymore.

The Mandalorian is almost jokingly known for its detours (pitch meeting pretty much nails it) but I honestly would love to see more adventures of characters like Carson Teva, Mayfeld and especially Cobb Vanth.

High energy film to cover the remaining plot points that would have been in the Rangers of the New Republic series? Before continuing on with season four and the second season of Ahsoka? Though we do not know if there will be any more live action streaming series after Ahsoka next year.
That's not the impression I've gotten. From impression I've gotten this is pretty much just a one off standalone story with Djin and Grogu doing a job for Sigourney Weaver's Colonel Ward without any real connections to any of the story arcs from the series, and they have left open the possibility of a Season 4 but didn't guarantee it.
Saw the trailer in front of Zootopia 2 this, and it really looks great on the big screen.

Carson and Cobb would be great. Mayfeld can pound sand until a sandworm gets him.

I'm not so sure about that. The name Krayt Dragon originates from the Original Star Wars novelization, where Luke says Obi-Wans howl is a Krayt Dragon call. So I suspect that skeleton has never been Identified as anything else, once someone decided to ID it.
I'm not convinced of that regarding the skeleton but cannot find what I read that states otherwise.

I did find this though:

On general principle, I refuse to watch any video that has big red arrows and sweepings claims to knowledge and insight beyond my ken.

Incidentally, I just so happen to think that skeleton is a prop Diplodocus skeleton left over from Disney's 1975 comedy ‘One of Our Dinosaurs Is Missing’. It was left there after filming, and rediscovered during filming of AotC.

Though not in any draft of the script I've seen, the earliest instance of the term "Krayt Dragon" is from the original novelization, and then only in reference to Ben's weird scream that scared off the Tuskens. So either it came from Lucas himself, or ADF made it up (It's probably the former.)
Not sure when the term started being applied to that skeleton, but the WEG TTRPG sounds like a safe bet considering I definitely remember it being labeled as such in the old Starlog "Star Wars Technical Manuals" from around '93 or '94 I think?

Exactly. You can't retcon when there's no prior con to ret.

I think that skeleton had been identified as a krayt dragon long before '93. I vaguely remember "knowing" it as such growing up in the '80s, but no clue where I got the idea from. (Not even sure where I first heard/saw the term "krayt dragon"!) At least now officially there's several different subspecies of krayt dragon, so it shouldn't matter much that they all look a bit different.

It wouldn't surprise me if it cropped up somewhere, and like I said, the WEG books are the most likely candidate given nobody else was really adding anything to the lore in the late 80's.
It would almost have to be the late 80's at the earliest since I've already checked the novel and the comic and it's in neither of those. The 1984 'A Guide to the Star Wars Universe' does have an entry for a Krayt Dragon, it just says : "large, man-eating reptile living in the. mountainous areas near the Jundland Wastes region of. Tatooine." Which is likely just sourced from the novelization.
The only other possibility I can think of is one of the photo storybooks, or some other random piece of merchandise like the liner notes to the LP, or a trading card, or something.
