Question
is the transporter chief a new character or Holo Geordi!?
I find it odd that the Tal Shiar would still exist. It’d be like having the KGB in a United Europe. Surely there’d be a new organisation with clean hands to start with.
Well, the V'Shar still exist in TNG, so no reason to expect the Tal'Shiar wouldn't.
Of course there's a reason. That's like expecting modern Germany to still have the SS. The last thing a liberated society would want to do is to preserve the oppressive instruments of the old authoritarian regime.
Besides, it's disingenuous to equate an intelligence agency with a secret police. An intelligence agency's goal (in principle, at least) is to control potential threats to protect its people. A secret police's goal is to control its people to protect the regime.
In two different threads this week, youve misquoted and misrepresented things Ive said.
Yeah, but V'Shar isn't infamous for selling out their own people for an unelected robophobic cabal. I would argue the name Tal Shiar cannot be separated from evil.Well, the V'Shar still exist in TNG, so no reason to expect the Tal'Shiar wouldn't. Perhapd the V'Shar got subsumed into the latter when Vulcan and Romulus merged.
So it looks like we've got another entry for the list of creative decisions made Colin Kelly & Jackson Lanzing that I completely disagree with.I find it odd that the Tal Shiar would still exist. If it is a helpful point of comparison, I just put him on "Ignore" years ago and stopped attempting to interact because I was tired of constantly being rage-baited by his disingenuous responses. It was quite useful to my mental health.Could I ask that you perhaps consider the tone in which you respond to me in future - or just ignore my posts? In two different threads this week, youve misquoted and misrepresented things Ive said. You drove me away from this board for a long period once before, and I know of others who have said the same, and Id rather that didnt happen again.

Isn't the Tal'shiar both?Besides, it's disingenuous to equate an intelligence agency with a secret police. An intelligence agency's goal (in principle, at least) is to control potential threats to protect its people. A secret police's goal is to control its people to protect the regime.
We don't know the full context yet.So it looks like we've got another entry for the list of creative decisions made Colin Kelly & Jackson Lanzing that I completely disagree with.
Is this the Kirk one? I would have got it if it wasn’t a comic.

It's worth giving it a go - #1 is only £1.82 at the moment on Amazon UK
I asked my wife if it was just me or could she not read that print either. Fortunately, she said she couldn't either so I guess i"m not totally blind yet.Cheers! I struggled to read some of the purple on black writing there.
