No, it’s really not a subjective opinion in this case. The movie was universally panned. And because of that, it’s highly unlikely that the TV movie format is going to be a thing anymore, no matter that people are still watching it. I get that you want to live in some fantasy land where you think S31 was some awesome thing, which you are welcome to do. But that’s not the reality, sorry.
I see nothing here to change my mind, there's plenty of evidence to the contrary, of which I've only supplied a handful. The status remains unchanged, I see a roughly equal divide between like and dislike, with an edge going for it for its successful viewership.

The regular TV Movie idea is still a thing. Of course, it all rests upon the new leadership at Paramount. Give it 6 months before we even start talking much about the future of the franchise, aside from some 60th anniversary stuff which I heard was being planned.

By all means, please supply the information that proves that the Section 31 movie was an astounding success.

I just rewatched 31 for the first time in about 9 months. It certainly wears well. I continue to like the spirit of it and is a fun movie. I'm not changing my rating at all.

I think fans forget Gene Roddenberry promoted Trek as an entertaining action-adventure.

My biggest takeaway now as it was then: They did enough that I want to see the characters in a series!

It was dogshit awful enough the one time I saw it that I have yet to be compelled to ever watch it again. Nor have I felt the need to buy it on blu-ray - something I have never once in my life said about something produced in the Star Trek franchise.

Picard's disastrous second season - near the bottom of the heap - at least had some redeeming qualities in those 10 hours of dreck. Section 31 couldn't manage one during its 90-minute runtime.

PIC Season 2 is, in my opinion, THE single worst season of Star Trek ever made.

Section 31 somehow manages to be worse.
