Well, shall see what occurs.
Unless something has changed, they need to have at least one character from the movie in the pilot episode.trying to think what actors could potentially come back.
RDA I think is unlikely, he's retired and hasn't acted in anything since 2013. Even if he did Jack would be past retirement age so he'd just be a civilian anyways.
Amanda Tapping still occasionally acts, but mostly focuses on directing and producing. She has said recently she'd be willing to come back though. Sam could be a General, or have taken an early retirement, she'd be in her late 50s.
Michael Shanks and Christopher Judge are still acting. Daniel would be in his early 60s, Teal'c would be.. old.
Dean Devlin and Roland Emmerich are EPs. I don’t know how I feel about that.

There's zero chance they get to make anything in Hollywood after ID4: Resurgence and Moonfall bombed.
So might not be too hands on he's currently got The Ark which has S3 coming out next (though it's probably the final season).Dean Devlin and Roland Emmerich are EPs. I don’t know how I feel about that.
I’m also surprised it’s not a reboot.
I think it'd be a longshot that the primary setting will be anywhere we've seen before (the SGC, Atlantis, or Destiny), they seem to like giving every series a unique visual flavor. I remember when Wright was talking about his pandemic pitch, part of it was an Earth-built stargate that would do some kind of rapid-firing dialing thing to spare them from "romancing the gate" with long technical dialing sequences (but I love dialing sequences...). In the Gateworld video, Gero (IIRC) mentioned that fifteen years of technological advancement would afford them a lot more visual scope, so there could be brief scenes set in old locations using LED walls and greenscreens, but I'd expect whatever the premise (possibly another take on the "isolated team" concept) the key location and probably the stargate itself will have an all new visual design.Just spitballing, but a good revival could start with Atlantis returning to Pegasus via the wormhole driver, but accidentally end up in a new galaxy. Lets you start with a blank slate, but keep the structure of the early seasons of Atlantis.
And there is one Stargate series that had no movie characters in its pilot or any other episode, namely Stargate Infinity. Yes, it's retroactively considered non-canonical, but it was still an officially produced Stargate TV series, so if there had been some contractual or legal requirement to include movie characters in every sequel/spinoff pilot, there's no reason the animated series would've been excluded.
GW: More importantly, should it be regarded as official Stargate canon, or should we treat it as an entertaining romp through an alternate universe, which has no impact on the live-action stuff?
BW: The latter. By the way, I don’t have a problem with it. I’m just not involved.
Infinity aired from September 2002 to March 2003, by an interview in July 2002, prior to Infinitys debut, Brad Wright was already stating in interviews it wasnt canonical -
Multiple sources said he had input up through TNG's 3rd Season.....Only for the first season, due to his failing health. And really, a lot of "his" decisions in the first season were actually those of his lawyer and handlers...
I doubt any legacy actors will come back for a major role. The occasional cameo, sure. I imagine all the SG1 cast would be willing to make an appearance if the story is right.trying to think what actors could potentially come back.

Weird take. Not a reboot? A hard pass for me.
Rats, I was going to post this news myself! Well, I was saved form making a fol of myself, so I suppose that's something.
Weird take.
Already sounds better than when they announced the new star trek
