What is your opinion of season 3 as a whole?

guess I just have different ideas about what constitutes retconning or inconsistencies than others here do - even if my personal views on it are supported by what an AI manages to piece together on the lore. I mean, the showrunners themselves say Q Jr is Trelane and there are still arguments about its validity, so that doesn't inspire much hope for agreement about what's what with regards to this universe.
Writers intent is not on screen evidence. If they didn't put it in the show it doesn't count, and AI is wrong.

If so, then there is an inconsistency between the established lore of Q Juniors rapid maturation in Voyager and the 8000+ year old child Q from SNW, which was my original issue with the portrayal.

For all we know Q Junior is also way older than he appears, but from Janeway's perspective seemed to become a teenager in just a few short Earth years. Q and Q Junior could have been galavanting across the cosmos for generations or centuries by the time they reappear on Voyager in 2378.

But, we don't know Trelane is a Q. That's my point.

How many Q have we seen to maturation? Two?

Okay, but if we operate on fireproof's assertion - which you agreed with by way of liking his comment - that if they didn't put it in the show then it doesn't count, then what you're suggesting by definition doesn't count, because nothing in any of the established lore shows it happening. All we are shown is Q maturing very rapidly.

It is HIGHLY implied due to de Lancie voicing his father that the glowing energy ball is the TNG/DS9/VOY Q we all know and love, but there's nothing spoken on screen to confirm OR disspell it.

You are correct we don't know Trelane is a Q. But if we're operating on what we've been shown as you suggested, then that's irrelevant, because all we have is the Voyager series to establish that Q mature quickly.

Amanda Rodgers did not appear to mature quickly.

Well, regardless, I do not believe Q rules apply here nor do I think one data point from Voyager established all Q must be like this. I don't trust Q for anything so an unreliable narrator is one I don't care to listen to.

I forgot about Amanda Rodgers. Actually that lends more support to rapid maturation than it does to an 8000+ year old Q "child" as she matured into her Q powers at age 18 per the episode. Given what we were shown it doesn't suggest she spends the next 8000 years being a childish troublemaker.

Because all beings mature the same?

If we are only to go off what we've been shown, then an 8000+ year old Q child doesn't make sense according to what's been established. That's my point, and what I was griping about in my OP that everyone seemed to latch onto.

I'll take your word for it. Q are liars and trouble makers, prone to exaggeration and I'm not inclined to believe any of them.
