Chris Columbus to direct Gremlins 3 for Christmas 2027

The director of 3 is the original writer of the first movie, so one would imagine he has some kind of connection to the material.

It's one of my favourites yet I didn't realise Chris Columbus was involved! That's neat. Although director and writer are quite different bags.

Joe Dante is 78 years old. At that age you probably want to focus on projects you really want to do. It might just be that he himself doesn't want to work on something he already did decades ago.

That's Dick Miller as Murray Futterman. He died in 2019.

Joe Dante is the person who directed Gremlins and Gremlins 2: The New Batch.

Yeah. Gremlins 2: The New Batch is one of the greatest movies ever made and I doubt Columbus will be able to live up to it.

Bautista and Cena are both pretty good, TBF. And apparently Johnson is good in that new biopic. But their respective CVs are just classic examples of those modern mundane streaming movies.

Yep, I like all three wrestlers-turned-actors in certain projects (Black Adam is a standout entry in the now-defunt DCEU) but yeah, just throwing them into a Gremlins sequel would give me very bad vibes for the outcome of the movie.
