Thoughts on Episodes 3 and 4 of Runaways:
* The 2017 Power Rangers comparisons continue to mount as we get our Gang of 6 trying to figure out their next steps and being split about whether or not there's anything for them to do in the first place

* I mentioned before that the show's tone and technological levels clearly established it as no being set in the MCU and I continue to feel that way, although it also doesn't even 'feel' like it was made by Marvel (Television) at all and would instead be 100% at home in either the Arrowverse or the DCEU

* I've got no idea what's going on with any of the adult characters, but can't decide if that's a good thing or a bad thing

* I've kind of inadvertently spoiled myself on the individual trajectories that some of our Gang of 6 will be heading down, and wish that these early episodes had done more to 'seed' said trajectories

* In my first post about the show, singled out Karolina, Nico, Gert, Molly, and Leslie as the standout characters for me, but I'm now just expanding my 'field of interest' to include all of the female characters on the show

* Does anybody know how old our Gang of 6 characters are supposed to be? Because I can't figure it out and it's driving me crazy (and the Wikis I can find about the show aren't really helpful because they treat it as if it's part of the MCU and use year-and-date references that aren't really sourced)

* I like the way that the show is using Flashbacks and 'jump cuts' to help establish a unique visual storytelling style

* It's weird to watch James Marsters in something where he's using his natural-born accent

* I keep feeling like I recognize the actresses who play Nico and Karolina, but neither of them have been in anything that I've seen, which makes it weird that I feel like they're familiar to me

It'll be real interesting to see where things head going forward given that, as noted, I can't quite figure out if my confusion about the adult characters is a good thing or a bad thing, and given that I have inadvertently exposed myself to some spoilers about characters.

Without spoiling anything, I would inquire if you have watched Cloak and Dagger.

More than two?

Depends on what one considers to be "Coulson" (Sarge? One of the LMDs? The Skrull? Alternate realities and timelines?)

I don't think those latter few categories count, since they were just alternate Coulsons existing alongside the main one, not "resurrected" ones taking his place after his death.
I was counting T.A.H.I.T.I., Sarge, and the LMD.
Daredevil: Born Again was a big disappointment. They got rid of most of the interesting secondary characters and replaced them with boring characters that have no debt though I do wonder if some of that potential depth was cut out of the show when they decided to make it a MCU show. Granted they should have did that from the beginning and put the people in charge from Netflix in charge from beginning. The entire idea of taking something that worked, then water it down for the MCU was a bad idea from the start.
Born Again was always going to be an MCU show, the question was how much it was going to be a direct follow up to the Netflix show or more standalone.

It's been a while, but I think you weren't really supposed to understand what was going on with the adults until they started revealing more about them later in the season.

Well, this is something that you may or may not want to know...

...Cloak and Dagger guest star.

I was already aware of the existence of that crossover, yes.

Born Again was always going to be an MCU show, the question was how much it was going to be a direct follow up to the Netflix show or more standalone

Without the decision to retool Born Again, the The Defenders Saga shows would have been Non-Canonical and Spider-Man: No Way Home and She-Hulk would have been the extent of what we knew about - and the first we saw of - Matt Murdock on the Sacred Timeline.

What do you mean when you say the Tech Level doesn't make Runaways compatible with the rest of the MCU? I saw the show and don't recall anything incompatible

1. Smart-home tech that's out of sync with what we see Tony use

2. Genetic engineering that's far beyond what anyone in the MCU can do

3. Super-advanced self-driving-automobile tech

4. Magic that far surpasses anything we've ever seen anyone, even Wanda and Agatha, accomplish

1) What Smart House tech is beyond Tony?

2) What Gene Engineering tech is so far beyond what we've seen others do?

3) That's not out of synch with the MCU at all

4) None of the magic shown was beyond what we've seen others do.

Meanwhile his MCU partner recently did this: Hayley Atwell visiting Peggy Carter's office at Disneyland :adore:

Wish we'd had gotten more Peggy Carter / Agent Carter.
