Spoilers Peacemaker: Season 2 - Discussion and Spoilers

I should have known a gut punch was coming when Gunn made Chris's dad likeable and even admirable in the space of five minutes. Still sucked though.

On a lighter note, did anyone else watch the "Bird Blindness" PSA under the extras tab? John Cena looks like he struggling not to lose it during his segments.

Now that the cat's out of the bag the title sequence practically screams Nazi. Peacemaker's arm movements, the lights on the wall in the background, several other dance movements of the cast - it's so funny ( and i'm so blind  )

The first few seconds when Harcourt ´points out all the obvious clues including the Hitler picture on the wall had me :guffaw::guffaw::guffaw:

As crazy as this episode was it was also full of heart moments - Harcourt enjoying the bike ride, Adebayo playing Scrabble with Judomaster and defending Peacemaker and even Blue Dragon being sane. I'm now confused - are the Trio mirror images of Peacemaker's reality? Peacemaker in Earth-X seemed to have been a total dick whereas his dad either a true US Patriot thus rejecting Nazi rule or even a good guy and Keith possibly also not that bad ( though him chasing after Adebayo pokes some holes into that theory). Tough to see Chris' trauma being ripped open again and him breaking down.

Gunn connecting all these little things to create a cohesive universe seems so Marvel Phases 1 and 2, when they were good. You can see how much effort he's putting into these projects and how much thought and organizing it took to pull it off and we have barely started with this DCU.

Next week is the finale and i have no idea what will happen.

Is it two episodes actors submit for consideration for Emmy nominations? Maybe John Cena has a legitimate chance at a nomination if he sends in these last two episodes.

Keith coming after Chris seems almost certain. I wouldn't be surprised if Chris dies, TBH. There'd be a symmetry to it, given what happened when they were kids. (Would also fit with Gunn being cagey about the show's future, saying we'll see some of these characters again but not necessarily as a third season.)

Great episode. But again, way too short. Getting shorter and shorter each week.

That was very funny. It's such a Peacemaker thing not to notice. I'm glad we still get laugh out moments like this because it's been a pretty heavy season for Chris.

Isn't Peacemaker supposed to be in the next Superman movie, Man of Tomorrow? Or was that just a rumor I read.

I'm not sure that made the most of the setup they had built up. It was fine but it just seems like it could've more epic/powerful. The crazy imagery in the preview does have me looking forward to see what they have cooking up.

Well, this was a twisty-turny half-hour of what-the-fuck-ery. Loved every bit of it. Though I hope Earth-X Adrian got away safe. And I hope Argus has some Kleenex for Happersen.

And once again, the podcast is twice as long as the actual episode.

I'm not reading any of the recent comments because after seeing the latest episode was only a half hour I realized why I like to wait until all episodes have dropped before watching so I can end episodes when I want. I hate cliffhangers so I usually watch about five minutes into an episode before stopping.

A mixed bag of a season finale i have to say.

The story itself is kind of weird and was basically setup for Peacemaker Season 3 or even the DCU on a wider scale since they used Lex Luthor freely ( please don't fall into the Marvel trap and have TV shows be a requisite to understand the movies), so it lacked a bit of weight and was rather disappointing.

What saved the episode though were the personal stories, the 11th Street Kids coming together again by fixing their center. Danielle Brooks carried this episode with 2 extremely emotional performances and she knocked it out of the park. Were the Emmys or Globes not completely averse to Gunn projects or Superhero movies for the most part she should get at least a nomination for this episode.

Loved that they have finally shown what happened on that damn boat and that she was finally able to admit how she feels. Not gonna lie - been there too Chris in the exact same position and had the exact same reaction

After Tarantino Gunn is the second director who uses music so effectively/prominently and who made it such an integral part of his style, i love it. Love also that he had the band appear who sings the intro song, that was a blast.

Eagly and Economos :wah::adore:

This was one hell of a weird rollercoaster season, mainly a therapy for everybody and above all for Peacemaker. And this being the show and character that he is it couldn't last long but at least i think Season 3 is safe now that Gunn is running the entire division ( anyone even heard so much as a peep from the other guy who's supposedly co-running the universe with him?).

I feel the same about the finale.

The personal character arcs this season were great. I loved Adebayo's speech to Chris. That whole scene in the motel room with everyone telling Chris how important he is to them was great. Adebayo's conversation with her wife was also very touching. You really feel the heartbreak. And finally seeing what happened on the boat was great and we get some character development in Hartcourt as well.

But the season finale left me feeling like the story ended prematurely. It had this odd feeling of being almost like a series finale with seeing the characters start their own business and being happy together. It felt like we were getting closure. But then Chris is banished to Salvation and that's it. We are left on a cliffhanger. I half expected one more episode where the gang rescue Chris and take down Argus to properly wrap up the story. I feel like this is another example of why these short 8 episode seasons are bad. They are too short. The season was good but it feels like part 1 of a story, not a complete story.

James Gunn has said that these season plays a big role in the upcoming Superman sequel, Man of Tomorrow. I am curious how. Perhaps if Lex/Argus do manage to send all the bad metahumans to Salvation, that we will see a very different Earth where metahumans are rare or even persecuted. And perhaps it will explain why Superman and Lex have to team up against Brainiac (?) since there are no other metahumans around anymore to help. Maybe sending all these metahumans to Salvation will leave Earth vulnerable to threats.

We did hear a roar sound like some big monster was on Salvation about to chase Chris. So maybe there is a threat on Salvation that will somehow get out and threaten Earth in Man of Tomorrow. Or maybe the metahumans that they send to Salvation will team up and manage to escape, and want revenge in Man of Tomorrow.

Lastly, what was the big cameo that was promised? Was the cameo the rock band that performed the theme song? I was a little disapppointed. I was kind of hoping that the cameo would be some big DC character. When they mentioned that metahumans from Arkham would be banished to Salvation, I thought maybe we would see a cameo of a DC villain being escorted to the portal.

My feelings on the last episode is pretty much the same as everyone else. This episode would have worked better as a mid season episode.

and was basically setup for Peacemaker Season 3 or
Apparently it won't be Peacemaker season 3 but a show called Checkmate.

Lastly, what was the big cameo that was promised?
I GUESS it got cut.

But if you really want your day ruined then get this...

James Gunn said that Deadpool almost showed up behind one of those doors and Ryan Reynolds was up for it.
