That is absolute bullshit. At the end of the day, the movie business is just that - a business.

Why would Paramount give a shit about something happening on a network they don't own?
If Trump can stomp Kimmel out, he can pretty much do anything he wants.
It was using the FCC as a weapon. I'd say if he can do it to Disney, he can go after any network he wants to.
South Park seems to have vexxed him as well, why can't the FCC expand and go after cable networks?

Excuse me, but what the fuck are we even talking about anymore? Getting Trump to pressure CBS to do a remaster of Voyager? This has got to be the stupidest thing I read on here in a while.
Even after 20 years on this board, it never ceases to amaze me the depths of stupidity have yet to be plumbed completely.

It’s the ‘Some guy on the internet thinks he knows better than anyone else’ syndrome.

That's not what I said.
I said if you can write Disney to get Kimmel reinstated, I'll argue that writing into CBS to remaster DS9 and Voyager seems like it might get some attention.
If Goldsman is suggesting to write in for Year One, then I don't see why letter writing campaigns don't work.
I don't know where pressuring Trump into remastering those shows came from.
The only mention of him was breaking down how he illegally weaponized the FCC.

Kimmel was reinstated because Disney lost nearly 2 million subscribers from their streaming services and saw a marked reduction in revenue from the theme parks.

Disney Adults don't fuck around.

Yes, but letter writing was a part of it, but yeah, they don't fuck around.

You are assuming CBS would get the same pressure Disney got over Kimmel. It's not gonna happen....it's a pure fantasy. Not enough Trek fans would bother to write CBS/Paramount.

I said it should be casual, so no, I'm not saying to put pressure like that. I don't think it's an issue like Kimmel to do that.
It did demonstrate that A. writing letters might work. B. Goldsman suggested it for Star Trek Year One, which means that it must work better than what most people think.
I am saying that it might put it on their radar.

All I'm saying is, you can actually preserve something worth preserving by writing a letter.
Or you can let Goldsman win, like he always does, the choice is yours.

You know you're talking nonsense, right? Letter writing campaigns don't work. And Goldsman isn't winning anything. Once SNW ends, he's out of a job, and is desperately trying to keep it by pulling a Terry Matalas. Didn't work for Terry; ain't gonna work for Akiva.

If there is one thing I've learned from Hollywood, Akiva Goldsman is not out of a job until Gandalf walks in the room and vanquishes him like Grima Wormtongue.
