At this point, I think I've rewatched the first season of TOS more than any other season from any Star Trek series. It's like an endless spring for my brain to drink from.

Season 1 could be a very rough work in progress, but man, is most of the writing good or even outstanding.
TOS is the best Trek show but TNG is the one I have most nostalgia for since it is the one that made me a Trek fan. DS9, Prodigy and SNW are ones that best represent how Trek should evolve that stays in spirit in with Trek but is also relevant for modern times. Enterprise is the guilt pleasure that gets better with age and Voyager gets worst with age. Discovery was the big mistake along with Picard season 2. Picard season 1 was a nice experiment and season 3 a nice goodbye to the TNG gang. Lower Decks is a nice diverting comedy. TAS is one I don't know what to think about and Orville of course is the one that always gets me wet when I mention it.
I officially swear off moisture after that post.

I find something immeasurably comforting about TOS. I could just wrap myself up in it. Didn’t really like it that much when I first watched as a kid, while waiting for TNG to return to the BBC. But now it’s the one I constantly revisit.

I like TOS now more than TNG. Tastes change.
When I was a kid, I really liked Roger Moore's James Bond. As an adult, I prefer Sean Connery's.
I really hope that if we get double our lifespan, the additional years are as a capable adult, not as a dependant child or in our dotage unable to go out unless it's someone taking us to our medical appointments.

Furthermore reading is in a growing number of schools till third grade.
So, by nineth grade the nineth graders have trouble reading at grade level.
The prime beginning time is four or five years old.

I have a friend who teaches nineth and tenth, they are seeing the results.

And why do you think that scripts are so bad? Because they can't write. Because very few teachers are actually left. Babysitters? Yes.
In the UK there is a small class of parents sending their Reception age four/five year old children in nappies because they have not bothered to potty train them. I doubt they have taught them to read or even count up to 20, giving the poor teachers extra work to do.
In the UK they want to lower the voting age to 16. I would raise it to 21 and make it compulsory to teach in schools how the political system works.
