The unnecessary reboot/remake of the week thread

They don't seem to use 555 anymore. Granted nobody remembers phone numbers anymore anyways. People just go to their contacts and and push dial.

IIRC, that stopped because actual phone numbers using 555 became a thing, thus negating the whole reason movies and TV shows were using 555 for their phone numbers in the first place, to avoid using actual phone numbers.

Oh man, the promotion in the leadup to the first movie was quite inventive, and I'm not talking about the rebranding of the 7-11's, although that was pretty cool too. No, what I'm talking about was a competition that was held between all of the Springfields in the U.S for the chance to be the town to host the premiere. What each town had to do for the competition was to send in a video recreating the famous opening. The town of Springfield, Vermont won that one, a town I spent many summers in.

I read that CBS tried to get the Fire Country cast to take a pay cut and when they said no the network axed two of them. So the Blue Bloods and SWAT spinoffs make more sense now. Get rid of 90% of the cast and now you only have one actor with a bloated salary to pay.

The movie should be about the return of Apu. IMO that is about the only thing they could do to spark some interest in this movie do to the fact that, The Simpsons has become super irrelevant these days. How else are you going to get buzz for this movie?

Or Homer gets abducted by Aliens, only for the aliens to realize they need a better subject, and they kick him out before the trip has even started, and throughout the movie Homer fails to convince anybody from the town that he's been abducted. Eventually the aliens realize their perfect subject is Lisa.

Like in Tree House of Horror VII?

Kind of? I dunno, I haven't watched the show too closely for years, so I don't remember the Halloween shorts very much, but one angle they could definitely do is is an expanded version of a Halloween story.
