The James Bond Film Discussion Thread (With Bonus Lazenby!)

The other thing with NTTD's pre title sequence is that it's 7 minutes before we even see Bond!

I mean I like NTTD more than many people do, it's my third favourite Craig film, but damn it's bloated as hell and one of many things I hope Villeneuve and Knight do is return to a leaner kind of film, certainly something that's sub 135 minutes.

With NTTD, do you not feel like the PTS should have just been the flashback, with Madeleine surfacing being the transition point out of the credits into the main body?

Maybe, though it's been a while since we had a PTS with no Bond. TMWTGG? and even then we technically saw Rog, just like in FRWL we technically saw Sean. I guess LALD is the only one with zero Bond.

Also Bond putting Madeline on the train is the perfect transition point for the credits, especially given there's then a time jump.

Might have worked better to start with Madeline surfacing, then show the flashback later? Even that doesn't quite work.

I like longer films but when credits are withheld so long it's distracting. I'll wager that many of us gave up hope on their even appearing in NTTD and MisImpDedRek1 before they eventually did. Had I been in charge-----don't run, I'm not----early film titles would be mandatory across the board with no exceptions. And the next four Bond girls would be Fairuza Balk, Christina Ricci, Alicia Witt and Helena Bonham Carter....and maybe in the exact same movie.

what if in the amazon verison of james bond it was a program in the mi7 and the number 007 was the number of james bonds in the james bond program

I see Amazon have been amending lots of Bond images online to make them as blandly generic as possible! (And removing his gun from several!)
