Warhead 2000 was another proposed remake of Thunderball by Kevin McClory and he wanted Dalton to be Bond
And then Liam Neeson was briefly attached.

you mean Casino Royale? XDThere was some rumours going back 20 years or more of a bond film with all of them in playing ex bonds. Was going to be called Warbird 2000 or something like that.
it wasn't even outright bad, good bad OR bad bad. it was so clearly a "filmed over the weekend during the pandemic"thing, bland surveillance state plot, barely here aliens, plot points that would have prevented the movie from happening, i don't buy ice cube as an NSA agent (at least not implemented this way) the most interesting thing is the random insertion of an idea from The Laundry books.but...We watched that last week. It was...forgettable.
Not sure, I remember reading something about it but was along time ago. Sure it was during brosnans reign.you mean Casino Royale? XD
always kinda hated the multiple bonds "theory", tbh
There was a point in the 90s when the rights to Casino Royale and the remake rights to Thunderball not lying with Eon resulted in the propositionl of two new Bond franchises competing with the Eon series. Not sure, I remember reading something about it but was along time ago. Sure it was during brosnans reign.
I prefer the theory bond is a single person too. I'd prefer the stories to be as they used to be and be mostly self contained with no link to prior movies.
I think he realised this and then tried to argue that he was not just responsible for Thunderball but for much of the cinematic template of the Bond movies, and how they differed from the books, and should therefore be allowed to do new and original ones of his own. Obviously this was a huge overreach. The trouble with McCrory is that all he could do was remake Thunderball![]()
And to be honest if you're remaking TB every 20 years with a different Bond and a slightly different aesthetic that isn't terrible. You just can't pump a new Thunderball out every three years and expect people to care.
I never thought I'd say this but given the last film came out in 2021 and we won't see the next film won't come out until 2028 I think people would have quite liked a Never Say Never Again style rip off starring Brosnan coming out this year!!
