Voyager Episode Posters

James, for the past few months I've been searching for episode posters/fan art for the Star Trek legacy shows when they run on H&I All Star Trek, and posting them with artist attribution on Mastodon, and I've posted several of yours there:
Let me know if I should stop.

The full set with everything I've found so far if interested:

Cool, carry on! and thanks for posting with 'artist' attribution. I just make them for fun, I was inspired by the Juan Ortiz posters for TOS. I really like his minimal style and occasionally I try to copy it, to varying degrees of success:

As I recently re-watched Warhead, I realised that the episode that I was thinking of was actually Dreadnought. So I rewatched that one and made a poster. And I'm moving away from using AI elements in my posters now - mostly because my credits have run out! This one took a fair while to get looking good as I had to do some vectorising of Cardassian LCARS.

As for the episode, it was pretty good for a Season 2 episode, but somehow I felt it was lacking and could have been better. Maybe it's just because the episode could really only have ended one way.

Here's an alternate take on Warhead:

Well, this is a poor episode alright. Instead of going for comedy, this one could actually have worked with a much darker and more sinister tone. The angel wings are Ai, the rest is drawn. The whole poster is based around the wings of fire when the Ferengi are tied up...and I've copied Juan Ortiz who used the Enterprise as a tear on some of is TOS posters. Except my tear is in the form of coins being wept by the burning Ferengi

If I did a poster on False Profits it would likely focus on the 3 harem women, and the Ferengi saying, "My eyes are up here." 😵‍💫

This is one of the better episodes from Voyagers first season - even though we know the crew aren't getting home. Why they cant just go back and put themselves in cryo sleep is never addressed - but plot holes aside, there's some good character work in this one.

Here's my very subtle poster for it.

This poster might be a bit uninspired - the episode was more fun than I remembered, but quite forgettable. I tired something with a knife and the Voyager - but I couldn't get it to work out. I like the framing device of using episode quote - but this one comes off looking like a book cover.

For this one, I texture wrapped Chakotays face tattoo around a sphere and added some clouds to make it look like a planet. Then the hawk is referencing events in the episode, where Neelix is attacked. Mixed feelings on Tattoo, knowing that the 'native advisor' was a fake - Chakotay's tribal background is a bit cringe to be honest.

I re-watched Random Thoughts and really enjoyed it. Quite interesting that Seven correctly points out that sometimes Starfleet engages with aliens without having sufficient information. A nice central performance also lifts this one above average.

In terms of designing the poster, I originally had thought bubbles with knives or skulls coming out, but it didn't look good. This poster is a cliche, but it was fun to make and I like it.

I saw this last night. Seven's confrontation with Janeway at the epilogue was hillarious. The Captain was just lounging in her ready room sipping coffee, and Seven just walks right in behind her and blurts out that she needs to speak. 😆

I'm back, 'stronger than ever', with another poster. I really like this one, even though the plot is tired and stale, the direction and the acting from Jennifer Lien make it work. And if the producers really replaced Kes with 7 to boost the shows sex appeal, they must've forgotten this one!

A bit of a nerdy poster this one.

A temporal anomaly episode - it's OK. But Voyager should have been bolder in those early episodes. And the Maquis crew members should never have put on the Starfleet uniforms in Caretaker. The ending is terribly convenient for all involved.

I tried to think of something unique for this poster, but inspiration would not come. So we're left with this generic boxing poster that I've knocked up (geddit?).

As for the episode.....this one actually has an interesting premise, some interesting cinematography as well as really alien aliens. But it comits the sin of introducing new elements to Chakotay’s background and history, elements that had not been suggested by any prior appearance and which will never be mentioned again! A bit like in the Year of Hell, when we're told Janeway rubs her combadge - behaviour we'd never seen before, or will again.

Since when was Chakotay interested in boxing? It is also uncomfortable that Chakotay’s Native American heritage acts as a gateway to pseudo-mysticism. And the episodes approach to mental health is.........questionable.
