The unnecessary reboot/remake of the week thread

Yep, it'll be like Return of the Jedi's Henson Yoda vs The Phantom Menace's CGI Yoda.
The Phantom Menace did use a puppet for Yoda. It's Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith that went with CGI for him, because people actually complained about the puppet in TPM looking fake. Which I kind of understand, because with every other creature in that movie being obvious CGI, the puppet simply looked out of place.

It's always Midnight on the moon so yes the Gremlins would instantly be that way. PLus access to water would be hard to get to in order to stop them. My other idea is Gremins on the Titantic. Find out the REAL reason the boat sank.

Problem is time they make this movie I think Trump will likely be out of office. So that part would feel kind of dated. Also I think it takes away from the idea of wanting to see the Gremlin sitting behind the oval office and ordering the other Gremlins around to do their Gremlin stuff.

I kind of also love the Red Letter Media idea they had. Gremlins take over the set of a "Gremlins" movie being made. Turns out the Gremlins from those movies were based on real life Gremlins. Gilligan would be playing a version of himself and he would team up with some young actor who is playing a rebooted version of the character he played in the first two movies.

Sheriff Country, filmed in Toronto, spinoff of Fire Country, filmed in Vancouver. Both take place in the same town. I'm guessing the only crossovers will be secondary characters?

I'm already working on the next spinoff set in the world of country music, Country Country.

I think it was more that because there was an unknown actor playing Bond, they hired a well-known actress for the female lead (Rigg having been in the Avengers). Had Connery been in the lead, they would probably have been content to get a less famous - and cheaper - actress to co-star.

Connery would have been a terrible choice for OHMSS IMO. Can't imagine him playing that final scene better than Lazenby (or even as well)

Counterfactuals are always hard to assess. I don’t think Connery was ever terrible in his life (phoned in DAF for sure) but Lazenby brought a romantic vulnerability to OHMSS which is a large part of its charm. Whereas Connery never really did vulnerable either. But perhaps this script would’ve been the one to bring out his acting chops in the role, at a time where he was otherwise bored of it.

It would certainly have been a very different film, especially if he had a less iconic leading lady.
