In early to mid 1980 when my ship was deployed on a "bonus" cruise to the Gulf of Oman for 5 months after a 6-month Med cruise, we watched the movie Halloween every night in my shop on a 16mm projector. The ship was converting all the projectors in the ship's TV shop, from tube type to solid state. They were throwing one of the old tube projectors away, and we snagged it from the trash pile. I replaced every tube in the projector, with new ones from supply. The movie was packaged up for shipment on the COD to be sent back to the Navy, and got 'borrowed' by my shop. We would hang a sheet on from the overhead after the business day was over (1900hrs). The head mess cook from the forward mess decks would come up with buckets of fried chicken or boxes of freshly made pizza, and it was time to watch a young Jamie Lee Curtis stab 'Michael Myers' in the eye with a wire coat hanger. Every night after we got the projector fixed was Halloween.

With me, I worked in a grocery store and one year, we played Halloween music over the "musak system" to mark the occasion. Most of the songs were on the fun campy side of things--except for John Carpenter's Halloween Theme. Our manager hated that one song so badly (especially when played at night before closing time) that she actually switched back to our regularly played music for a couple of nights.
