What a black Sunday THAT was.Man for All Seasons?
I just finished rewatching NO TIME TO DIE with my neighbor this morning. It's good to see Chachi working in a popular movie again, at least until his eye got zapped.

The First James Bond of the Amazon Era Is Young, Reckless, and a Playable Character
'007 First Light' will be released next year, featuring a fresh take on Bond from 'Hitman' developer IO Interactive.www.hollywoodreporter.com
Best place to begin is to exploit the back-and-forth between Matthau and Shaw. Matthau tells him it's not helpful to keep saying ''49 minutes,'' so Shaw replies with ''48.''I can't figure out a good Taking of Pelham 123 joke.

Denis Villeneuve Directing Next James Bond Film

I spoiler coded a Doctor Who spoiler there since this is not the Doctor Who forum, though at this point, I'd guess everyone knows that particular spoiler anyway.Actually on a semi-related note, I was recently reflecting on how 2025 is seeing the change in many world leaders. In the US, Biden was still President when 2025 began as Trump wasn't sworn in until January 20. In my own Canada, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau stepped down in 2025 with Mark Carney replacing him and since being officially elected in as Prime Minister. With the death of Pope Francis, Pope Leo XIV now leads the Catholic Church. And now Ncuti Gatwa has left Doctor Who with Billie Piper being the show's current lead. I think we can agree regardless if she is truly the Sixteenth Doctor or not, she will be the lead actor of the next episode, making her the incumbent franchise lead at the moment. Hell, even in my own personal life, I've had a change in my direct manager this year.
Ah, maybe they'll do that; outside of the Bond movies, they'll 'make' 2-3 spin-off 'tv series' for Prime Video focusing on other Bond characters. They'll have shows set in the same universe as the new movies they'll make. But they won't make 1 movie every year.Since they chose Denis Villeneuve, they will do 2 things:
1. They will continue with Daniel Craig style movies, this choice probably shows that.
2. They do not want to establish a Marvel style universe.
They could do something like the last 2 bond movies or casino royale.Villeneuve is in interesting choice for the Bond franchise, which primarily consists of action movies while his movies tend to be more character oriented than Bond films typically are. I do like his movies, and I'm interested in seeing what he brings to the Bond franchise, but this news is very surprising all the same.
Now that a director has been selected, how long do we think it'll be before the white smokes rises from Amazon studios heralding the casting of a new Bond? If we do get a new Bond this year, this will be another of the changes in 2025 I discussed in this post in the Doctor Who forum:
I spoiler coded a Doctor Who spoiler there since this is not the Doctor Who forum, though at this point, I'd guess everyone knows that particular spoiler anyway.
Interesting choice! At least we know it'll look good.![]()

When every corner of the internet is trying to wind up the other corners it doesn't really create positive vibes. Is it bad that I hope they choose someone as "controversial" as Daniel Craig (or even more so) because how much that'll wind up certain corners of the internet?
This strikes me as a good sign. Choose the creative first, then settle on the actor(s) later. What I find even more interesting is that we know the director of the next Bond film before knowing who the next Bond will be. That was definitely not the case the last time around.
