Doesn't answer the question if Berman was part of the casting process. Which was what I inquired about.

Garrett owned up to it and said he fixed his tardiness issue. As has been mentioned, Wang had several problems with not showing up to set on time, and other unprofessional behavior in that vein.
So no second chances for people apparently. If I’m running a business, and I’ve got an employee who’s continually late and being an unproductive drag on resources coming up to me demanding a raise or a promotion, the last thing I’m gonna do is just give it to them because everyone else is getting them.
Most likely. From what I've seen on the D-Con Chamber he was in the mix for most casting decisions. As Executive Producer and Co-Creator, I can’t imagine he wasn’t involved in casting. Never seemed like the type to hand things off to others.
Being continually late tends to burn a few bridges. So no second chances for people apparently.

If he was there, why would he have hired her?
He didn't fit his "image" of what he wanted out of his actress.
So he sent his casting directors to do their jobs.
Because he's the guy in charge of Star Trek. From what I gather casting includes people from the studio, advertising, production and network (if applicable). So yeah, the guy in charge of the franchise is probably in the room. "Running" TNG would be just one of his responsibilitiesThink about it logically, he's running TNG along with DS9 and prepping for the eventual ST TNG movies.

Well, as we all know, producers are evil people who hate the fans except when they don't and it's a constant war on production sets to get things snuck past the evil guys to win a victory for the fans.I do always get a bit of a chuckle when these arguments focus on Deep Space Nine. Everything that is wrong with the show is because of that dastardly Rick Berman. Everything right is the because of other people.

Has he ever publically apologized for all the people he has wronged?Rick Berman?

Funny, I don't hear anyone demanding Gene apologize.I can still enjoy the shows if he apologizes or not.
Okay, that's how you operate.Never believed in basing forgiveness on conditions.
