What is your personal head canon?

No, tell it to the writers to create some consistency.
Good Luck with that, the Franchise has changed ownership hands many times, including right now with the up coming SkyDance merger.
There's been serveral heads of Star Trek already.
There's no one person who can hold in consistency, especially after the passing of Gene Roddenbbery & Majel Barrett.
His son Rod Roddenberry is only a EP on new series, but that doesn't mean he gets deeply involved either.
The fan base has numerous conflicting views on things.

Or not.

I am looking for entertainment and good stories not a government audit.
So far, has Nu Trek delivered for you?
How's Alex Kurtzman Stewardship so far?

SNW is generally banging on enough cylinders to keep me regularly happy.
PRO was 40 episodes of solid Trek animated storytelling and character development with an original feel and fun twists.
LD was goofy but sometimes poignant and well-crafted fun.
PIC is....well, PIC. But at least it managed to narrowly inch out DSC.

How do you feel about DISCO?

the phaser and torpedo noises are just sound fx played on the bridge to keep people "in the fight"
I could've told you that.

All the SFX is advanced 3D Spatial Sound Recreation for the benefits of the operators inside the vehicle to better use their natural hearing senses while in the middle of battle.

Like fake engine noise from Electric Vehicles!
which has a good reason, potentially saving blind pedestrian lives.
Tracks pretty well. Possibly the same thing with sound in space.
i don't remember if it was this forum or elsewhere, probably elsewhere, but a Trekkie once tried to argue with me that there might be sound in space, its just no one has tried it. i suggested he volunteer, iirc.

I just think that the bridge crew might need some understandable reference points with the unfamiliar dynamics of space travel. Space travel is quite difficult to navigate, and the silence of it would be enough to drive most humans mad. Something to reference, give some feedback as to their speed, and movement and activity of the ship.

Much like anything else in life, different people want different things.
While that's true, I think Toyota made the right call for it's PHEV and EV's when it comes to external noise.

It doesn't try to mimic a ICE car, it does it's own thing by emitting a unique sound profile that is hard to forget & immediately recognizeable.

Brand New, absolutely fresh off the oven, shiny as Picard's scalp PHC:

Every Trek episode that happened after Star Trek: First Contact has taken place in a wavering timeline.
No way in hell would Seven know about First Contact (VOY), Klingons history of smooth forehead not to be known being caused by Earth (DS9, ENT), Khan being Bri'ish (KT), Burnham and crew spending time in the Mirror Universe (DSC), NX-01's launch date being such a big deal (PIC) and finally, Spock having history with the Gorn (SNW).
