That Starbase 11 wall chart - noe in slide form

So the wall chart comes up every now and then. One idea that's been discussed, mostly by me, is trying to find a film clip of the chart. I'm a photographer, and I have a film scanner that will do 9600dpi. This may, or may not, put an end to the debate about what numbers are on the chart; I'd guess there's about a 50/50 chance of success.

Well...somebody on ebay is selling a oad of Court Martial clips. The bad news is they're priced at $449.00. Who wants to start a kickstarter?

For the record, I don't epect this to happen. But is there is someone reading this with deep pockets and an abiding interest in the chart, let me know.

I think the critical issue is probably focus, not resolution. Especially if the film clips aren't the original camera negative. Maybe aligning and layering multiple frames together would overcome that.

Both are relevant. I have no idea what stock the show used to shoot, which would address the esolution issue. There is at least one shot, as I recall, which starts on the chart and pulls out; if my memory is right, and the focus puller was on point that day, that should address focus.

I assume the red of the scans would not have any effect? I noticed some are full color but the two in question are all red. So our odds are actually somewhat better. One of the two might produce what we want.

I think all the Lincoln Enterprises clips were cut up from daileys, which were not color graded, hence the red tint. I don't think t would make a huge difference in the results.

So I found a single scan on ebay for $25.00. I went ahead and bought it. Stand by and we will see how good this works. It might not be the best copy but it might work as a test to see if its possible.

I am, in Virginia. If you want to send it to me I'll give it a shot. I will caution you up front, however, that becase the chart is such a small part of the frame, it may not solve the problem. I've been looking for a clip with the chart close to filling the frame.
