It’s very likely Leia would (or did) tell him to go to hell if Anakin tried contacting her. Luke’s more generous towards him, but there’s also the element of the Meeting of the Deepfakes, and I’d really rather not see any more of stick-up-his-ass prequel-Jedi Luke, so unless the writing decisions and/or technical obstacles that led to that particular choice change, I’m happy leaving Luke and Anakin’s father-son bonding to the imagination.

Might be. It’s been a while since I read them. Bakura was the first EU novel after Jedi continuity wise so it’s possible we got Leia’s feelings here.
