Well, looks like Crunchyroll got and put up Space Battleship Yamato: 2205 (it's an 8 episode story that took place between SBY 2202 and SBY Rebel 3199 and it's events are referenced in SBY Rebel 3199. Better late than never I guess.
(I'm still would love it if they decide to English Dub both SBY 2205 and 3199, but we'll see. At least those who never sailed the Internet high seas to watch SBY 2205 now have a chance to do so via legitimate means:

"Age of Yamato" is on there too?Looks like they also added the most recent film.
Finally watched it. It isn't only an excellent recap, but it did a good job in terms of world binding."Age of Yamato" is on there too?![]()
Just watched it myself last week and I agree it’s a great extra piece in the lore. I love how they explained how the original WWII Yamato was raised, rebuilt and re-sunk to show why it looked the way it did when Kodai found it in one piece. A bit of a clever retcon, considering that was how they envisioned it looked like when SBY was first released in 1974, but later the actual wreckage discovered in 1985, being split in half, partially capsized and in really bad shape. Brilliant way to clean up the loose ends. Finally watched it. It isn't only an excellent recap, but it did a good job in terms of world binding.
Quite interesting the part about the two Mars independence wars. It explains how a united Earth had such a fleet to fight the Gamilas.
One week until it's in theatres in Japan; and if the past is any indication about 2 weeks before the next four episodes hit Crunchyroll.Seems like an eternity...
