Aside from the production budget, Cap 4's marketing budget has been estimated from various sources--

IGN:

Estimates, nothing solid.

Box Office Mojo's updated grosses for Cap 4 has the film earning $413,257,265. If any of the estimated production + advertising budgets are accurate

So again...nothing solid.

Well, it's Benedict Wong as Wong, so arguably he's already two Wongs. And he does tend to make it right.

No visor on Cyke in the picture with Wong. So probably not being filmed. The pic with McKellen and Marsden seem a bit casual for a scene between Cyclops and Magento.

I hope this does usher in more practical effects and standard stunt work. I think the world has has become bored with CGI. Not that CGI should go completely away but it should be used less and more efficiently.

I mean, when it's stunts that could happen like jumping off a tower it's one thing. But when you go into outer space you kind of need the CGI effects.

They can use some CGI but they can also use more models again. Their is something great about models like in the first few Alien movies for example that is hard to just capture with CGI. Is especially true for Gore. "The Thing" still looks better than any CGI monster, ever.

I just watched Aliens last night. I grew up in the era where, unless you rented the VHS, you had to catch a movie on television. That's the era when you might see the end of the movie first and then watch the beginning or the middle when it came on again. This was the first time I'd seen the film from beginning to end.

My relevant point is that the effects work was really great. There was one scene that was pretty iffy at the end when Bishop is in pieces and there's a close up of Lance Hendrickson and it's pretty obvious that he's standing underneath where the floor should be -- but all the space effects and the puppetry were fantastic. It really made me nostalgic for old style special effects.

EDIT: LOL, Jayson and I were thinking the same thing at the same time.

Then you got something like Blade Runner that is also perfect looking. Or the alien spaceship in "Close Encounters of the Third Kind."

How could we also not mention "Wrath of Khan." Just the movie that has one of the all time best space ship battles in movie history with the stuff in the Mutura Nebula.
