Dune [Part 3] Messiah 2027 (28, 29, 30...)

Also the movie will be accused of ripping off The Matrix Revolutions.
All movies and entertainment are a "rip off" of something else. I saw someone on Blacklist say that Star Wars is a rip off of Dune. I heard an interview with (I think) Willie Nelson who said he got one of his songs from someone else. Unintentionally, but it happened. C'est la vie.

But my point was that saying Dune Messiah rips off Matrix 3 would be like saying the third Hobbit movie ripped off Game of Thrones.

And, they likely did in one way or another. And LOTR borrowed from King Arthur thru Merlin. None of it's original except for how it's constructed.

Not saying you're wrong. I'm just saying I don't put much credence to those claims since it's all borrowed from someplace. I'm sure someone can say Shakespeare "ripped off" Homer in some form or fashion.

Absurd.

Star Wars is a ripoff of The Hidden Fortress, Dune is a ripoff of Lawrence of Arabia.
I watched The Hidden Fortress for the first time a few weeks ago and yeah the similarities are amazing (but then so are the similarities between SW's final act and The Dambusters)

I do always love it when people claim things have ripped off other things despite existing before the thing they're supposed to have ripped off (see Judge Dredd is just a rip off of Robocop for example!)

??Lawrence of Arabia was a biopic. The story of Dune was inspired by T.E. Lawrence. Herbert had already been working on the novel for years by the time the Lawrence of Arabia movie was released.

Lucas never denied that, did he? I thought he was pretty open where his inspiration came from. Didn't he even say he originally wanted Minoru Chiaki for Ben Kenobi?

He wanted Toshiro Mifune.

Honest to god he's put Twillight WAY behind him, all the recent movies i've seen him in were awesome. If he's indeed joining the cast i'll be happy to see him.
If they're doing Messiah and Children together, he's probably playing Prince Farad'n(SP?). If it's just Messiah, only character I can think of would be Scytale...
