WHY DIDN'T ANYONE TELL ME THEY WERE IN TOWN?!?? THEY'RE LIVE AT THE SPACE & ROCKET CENTER NOW!

I love the whole look of the trailer, actually. Wonder if the cooking scene is a nod to Ebon’s role in The Bear?
I'd put money on it.

I bet whatever they do to stop Galactus will also factor in how they get to the MCU universe. Though it is weird. Not only do they have to travel to another universe but forward in time as well. I am curious how they do both of those things.
I think all they have to do is jump universes. This Earth is described as a retro 60s future. So it's the same time but the alternate Earth of this time looks like the 60s.

I was curious how the retro-future 60's aesthetic would actually look on film. And I have to say I'm pretty impressed by this first taste. It FEELS really different, gives the film a different vibe.

As expected the first trailer doesn't show a ton. But the Thing looks quite good so far, and I'm happy that they are leaning into the family angle so hard. Live action H.E.R.B.I.E. was not on my bingo card when this film was announced, so I'm digging that.

Still not sold on Pascal as Reed. The rest of the cast felt like solid casting from the announcement (particularly Kirby and Moss-Bachrach). But while Pedro has "genre dad" cred he doesn't really feel like Reed to me yet. This did nothing to change that, but nor did it give me any new concerns. Would have preferred the full beard to the Pedro-stache, but it is what it is.

Also, not going to lie, I had a genuine fanboy moment at the comic accurate Galactus. Doesn't mean it will be good in the final product, but that headpiece definitely pushed exactly the button the trailer creators were hoping for.

Please don't suck. God, I feel like that's my mantra for the entire year. Daredevil, Cap 4, this. Just please don't suck. This is all some of my favorite Marvel/MCU material and I just want to mainline all the joy and excitement.

I could see this going in a very Marvel Comics direction -- the Fantastic Four fail to stop Galactus from consuming their Earth, and in their failure they are "kicked" through the multiverse, survivors of a doomed timeline, trapped in a world they never made. Shades of Rachel Summers, Cable, Bishop, a bunch more I can't even remember....

Something I think I may have spotted in the trailer during the wide city shot was the MetLife building, or was it the Pan Am building? This would be the first appearance of said structure in an MCU movie as it is the in-universe site of Avengers Tower (Although we did see the Met Life building a couple times in Agents of SHIELD and the Netflix shows).

It was too fast, small and blurry to tell if it says Pan Am building or MetLife building on the side (If indeed I am seeing what I think I'm seeing). Pan Am would be accurate to the 1963 date, as that's the year that building opened.

I hope they stay in this universe and it's not destroyed/merged and then they go to the one that looks like our world.

It's kinda like how the nukes hitting in the Fallout TV show are happening in like the 2070s. Their universe just goes with a future that looks like the 'world of tomorrow stuff' predicted for the future back in the early to mid 20th century.

That just seems like a pretty grim, no pun intended, way to introduce your heroes to an audience to me.

Yeah, it's the Quantumania issue in reverse.

You don't introduce your big bad and have them defeated immediately, but you also cannot introduce a new team of heroes and have them defeated immediately.

Honestly, I'd rather the film take place on the "standard" MCU Earth, in the Silver Age, where there's a second heroic age between Captain America in the 1940s and the Avengers in the 2010s, and defeating Galactus just kicks them ahead in time sixty-ish years. Maybe it's time dilation. Maybe it's a rip in the fabric of time. Maybe it's hypersleep and the Guardians of the Galaxy find them, like the Botany Bay.

Yeah, but it would have been hard for them to be the big celebrities we see here since the early MCU movies seem to treat the rise of super heroes and villains as something fairly new for most people.

The retro-future buildings in the NYC scenes would seem to indicate it's not the MCU Earth. Plus, in Avengers, Fury specifically says that Thor's arrival was what clued everyone into there being life outside the planet. (Yes, he "knew" before per Captain Marvel, but I'm pretty sure he's referring to the general public, and it wouldn't be the first time he's not told the whole truth.)

But I think in one of the leaked trailer it shows a alternate version of a real 60's talk show in it. But I am not 100% sure on that. Though I do wonder if they might do that Sliders things were some universes move faster than others. While it is the 1960's in that universe it's the present day in the MCU universe and in theory their would be other universes were it's actually 100 years from now and etc .
