I'd greenlight that show. If we're going to have a young adult/kid-oriented Trek series with lots of angst, go back to one of the most unsettled, scary eras of the Trek chronology. A huge war had just ended and Earth and her allies had unified to form something both incredible and very, very intimidating, plus a concept that had the potential to not only fail and impressively but plunge the known galaxy into even further chaos, and the orphans of officers and crew lost to the Romulans could provide a very interesting perspective on the earliest years of the Federation and how almost nobody outside the people who founded it had any idea if it would even last long enough to celebrate a major anniversary.
It would also lend itself to some characters being like Edison in Star Trek Beyond, where he was used to fighting enemies, now having to seek them out to join the Federation in peace.

I wouldn't do the Discovery trick of leaving the bridge in the middle of a crucial situation, but I liken it to a scene in the first episode of the late 1980's Mission: Impossible, where Phelps is face-to-face with the killer who killed his protege. He holds his cool, and after the meeting, Phelps goes into the next room and tells another member of the IMF that he felt like he could have reached across the desk and strangled him.

But it could be a dramatic angle that is an underlying current through some of it, and seeing how some of these crews would end up appreciating these other races in the process.

I would bet dollars to donuts that it wouldn't look anything like how people have pictured it in their minds for the last 60 years.

Though if the show did look how I'm picturing it, I'd also be OK with that. Pretty much a aesthetic mix of Enterprise and the Franklin from Beyond.

Including something at least similar to those amazing Franklin uniforms.

I voted Other (would have selected the Stargazer/Picard option but not a big fan of Picard that much).

There are a few I like to see happen and I have mentioned these 2 before in a past thread -

1. Would be nice to see a Enterprise B series but probably won't happen anyways as we don't know how long its been in service for and when it it was descommisisoned/destroyed before the Enterprise C came.

2. Enterprise C series is my 2nd choice but of course we already know the fate of the ship and crew in 2344 but we don't know when it was commissioned and launched (was thinking 2332 or 2334)

3. I would like to see a few series that take place sometime after Voyager got home to fill in the gap between 2379 and 2399)

Forget about the Section 31 movie. “Carl” should’ve sent Empress Georgiou back to the only point that would make a difference, at the Battle of the Binary Stars and give her life in place of Phillipa Georgiou.

Then Captain Georgiou, knowing she can’t alter the Federation timeline, continues with the guise of being Mirror Georgiou and slowly works her way back into the Federation by the early-23rd century, working for 31, with very few knowing who she really is.

I wouldn't mind finally getting that Assignment: Earth series especially not knowing what we know of the agents due to Picard and Prodigy.

I would still prefer an Enterprise animated series, in the vein of Star Wars Clone Wars, filling in the rest of 2155 through 2161.

Is it too late to make this happen?

Evil Georgiou replacing good Georgiou at the Battle of the Binary stars, would be the ultimate redemption arc. I'm surprised they never thought of it
I thought for sure back in season one it was the whole reason for her character existing. They even had her eat a person in order to set up the historic irony of her ultimate fate at the hands of a ship full of starving Klingons.

But no...

This actually (sorta) came to me in a dream…

The Enterprise (insert Temporal Plotline, here) finds the Robinsons and the Jupiter II.

Judy figures in the Pilot, and Kirk and Don have conflict!

Still working on a name…

“Star Trek: Found in Space”???

Plus, can you imagine the soundtrack with an AI Combo of Courage, Horner and Goldsmith (oh, my) !!!

I know I'll get heat for this but a pre TOS Kirk show. I don't like Wesley but I would love the story. If they didn't want to do TOS Kirk then get different actors again and have a AOS show (I know those actors are all still around but no way could paramount afford them)

I'd definitely want a "Romulan War" series featuring the NX-01 crew and a retconned ending to Enterprise, focusing on Archer as the main character during the Romulan war. If not that, then Young Picard.
