Ok. What is the chance of a Picard spinoff?

Congratulations to all on achieving the goal of a Post-Picard series. I hope we can all enjoy the upcoming 25th century series from Tawny Newsome and put all the constant bickering behind us.

That's assuming it'll make it to air.

It's actually a little bit exciting, I must say.

I won't say it sounds cheap, but it's scratching my 25th century itch at a seemingly reasonable price with half-hour episodes set in one location.

And, with Newsome involved, it might be a natural successor to Lower Decks and keep those 25th century home fires burning for anything else that might come along.

That's assuming it'll make it to air.
Worth keeping in mind.

;)

Not up on the latest news. Is Tawny’s pet project supposed to take place after PIC?

This wouldn't be a spinoff of ST:P, but I think another great spinoff with Cap'n P as the main character would involve him returning to the late 19th century and traveling the country with the landlady putting on small productions of Shakespeare plays and the like. It would be called "Mister Pickerd's Traveling Stage Show".

I'll be really soul-crushed if Captain Seven doesn't at least get a movie or miniseries. (Though, I might prefer something shorter like that to another multi-season serial that we have to keep up with.)

I dont think it will happen. The powers that be seem to be more into the 32nd century and the 23rd.

SNW is approaching the end of its lifespan.

It may well be intended as a replacement for Lower Decks in the comedy arena.

There's absolutely no way a sitcom can replace Picard.

I get they probably don't want two life action drama shows set on a spaceship on air at the same time. But when SNW ends, I can well imagine they would start another such show (under the condition there will still be enough demand for new Star Trek, business-angle wise).

And the next thought then could be "SNW was really successful with its TOS focus, so was PIC season 3 -- so why not do the same thing for the 24th century shows, that SNW did for TOS?"

(Now of course you can say "they already did that with PIC", but PIC at first tried a new approach, at least in the first two seasons, instead of really being a "modernized TNG", as SNW is a "modernized TOS").

What movie? First I heard of this

It first came out last year:
