DC Cinematic Universe ( The James Gunn era)

This actually about a cast member from the DCEU, but I wasn't sure if it was worth reviving the thread for this, so I'm posting it here.
Gal Gadot revealed yesterday that back in February, while 8 months pregnant with her daughter, she had to have surgery to treat a life threatening blood clot in her brain.

That's scary, those things can kill you pretty quickly.

I'm assuming he'll show up in Supergirl as a secondary antagonist (maybe working for Krem) before moving on to bigger things in future movies/TV shows. Maybe he's the bounty hunter Ruthye encounters in the first issue.

I’m too lazy to scroll through all the replies to Momoa’s post, but apparently director David Leitch, who directed The Fall Guy, Bullet Train and Deadpool 2, among others, replied to suggest that he’d love to direct a Lobo movie.

The Hollywood Reporter and Deadline Hollywood are both reporting that Momoa/Lobo is set to be the main villain in Supergirl.

That sounds awesome. I hate the comic its based off of anyway, so any changes are going to be an improvement, and putting in a real villain, especially one like Lobo, can only help the story. If they're adding him they're probably overhauling most of the comic's story, probably just keeping the skeleton while making it match Gunn's universe, which is great because we don't need that comics grim murderous a-hole Supergirl in Gunn's DCEU.

Hopefully it works out and we see Momoa's Lobo interact with the new Superman eventually.

I suspect Lobo may just be a set up cameo and not the main villain. They already cast the main villain from the comics, Krem.

The cameo-er the cameo, the better. I say put him on a wanted poster somewhere, preferably way in the background and out of focus, and call it done. "Jason Momoa as Lobo, folks, let's give him a big hand."

I found Momoa excellent as Aquaman (in the first movie, still haven't watched the second) and as Duncan Idaho, and of course he was an excellent Khal Drogo. So I can definitely see him doing as great as Lobo... if only I liked Lobo more.

Still, depending on how he's done, he could be a great boisterous pro-wrestling/biker type villain. As I recall the Young Justice animated series had a pretty good one that was dangerously menacing, could bring in some of that element as well.

I thought Momoa was pretty bad as Aquaman (apart from looking awesome in still photos) and his success as Khal Drogo seemed to be mostly the result of the fact that the character barely actually had to talk or even emote very much.

However, I thought he was great in Slumberland and his character in that movie was basically just a PG version of Lobo, so I figure this is probably right up his alley and about the best chance there is of him being perfect for a comic book character. And he'll certainly look awesome, as usual.

BTW, I had a belated realization: You haven't actually read Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, have you? I mean, you asked recently about how Comet was portrayed in the book, which you'd know if you had read it. So I'm guessing this is yet another instance of you adopting an extravagantly hostile position toward something based on no real knowledge at all, just whatever context-free stuff you've heard about it, combined with your own idiosyncratic prejudices. Amirite?

Comet was badass! A bloody hero!
