General Computer Thread

I Love GN videos and how they're not afraid to call out companies.

Yep, so nzxt will run itself into the ground, only the investers will get rich of it, as for the people gullible enough, well sucks to be you.

Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger retires, effective immediately — two co-CEOs step in

He's been "Ousted" by the Board of Directors, I think it's unfair considering that he was cleaning up "Bob Swan's" mess and still needs more time to right the ship.

But we'll see what happens from here on.
It's about time. We switched to AMD at work because IT didn't want to deal with issues with current Intel chips.

My new router that I built is using Realtek instead of Intel because they screwed up the i225 NIC.

And they missed both the mobile play as well as the machine learning play.

And they failed to invest, so TSMC took the lead for what they had originally invested in by former CEOs.

Oh now NZXT claims GN was confused

Human thought runs at just 10 bits per second, say Caltech scientists — that's why we are mostly single-taskers

Now CalTech Scientists have quantified how wide of a CPU is our "Inner Brain", the one that makes all the decision making.
It's a 10-bit wide equivalent CPU.

Humans process thoughts at just 10 bits per second, according to a recent paper published by Caltech researchers. In contrast, a human's sensory organs gather data at a billion bits per second. So, if you ever feel overwhelmed by what is going on around you, it's only natural.

The research paper, dubbed 'The unbearable slowness of being: Why do we live at 10 bits/s?' ponders the human neural substrate which limits thoughts to such a slow pace, and proposes new research to look into this 'bottleneck' now that it has been quantified.

Dunno if anyone's seen this yet, but this is one ugly keyboard. The Cybertruck of Keyboards! I have doubts that this is comfortable to use.

If you spill your drink on it, will it catch on fire, that can't be extinguished until it is completely consumed?
Does it get stuck between keystrokes?
Does it require constant software updates?

It does have the dumpster lid cyber truck look about it, though. :guffaw:

It's ugly looking, made for idiots who want to part ways with their $$$

Probably the same audience as the Cybertruck, wanting a keyboard to match for their CyberComputers!

Looks very niche.... Ah just slap the word Gaming on the box it will sell

Sad thing is, I could see that happening a few years down the road.

At that price, you'd better hope it has auto-typing and anger detection that can sense when you're about to write angry words.

it might be mechanical but those keys don't look like they'll give a good experience when typing and your first will simply slide about as they're domed rather than concave or flat.
It was designed for looks, not for typing comfort & ergonomics.

Oh definitely, I hate the bloody CyberTruck.

It's such a FUGLY design.

Yeah, you're right. The keys look extremely cheaply made, almost as if they were a rubber membrane rather than solid plastic.

Oh yeah, the holes, although I can't quite see them in the zoomed in picture they show. Maybe it's the lighting.

But another thing are the keycaps which are sold for $415 separately... oof.

Lesson learned today. Do not burn disks at higher speeds just to shave some time off.. Drop the speed and you get a much better result.

Seems to work perfectly nearly all the time.
