Spoilers The Ships of Lower Decks

I always figure the Bonaventure was the first warp X ship, just the X was unspecified. So for example “Bonaventure was the first warp 7 ship”

Making it the first “warp ? Ship” then at least keeps the line, kinda intact, and then places the Bonaventure as a bridge from NX to 1701.

It could be one of those "warp seven beauties" Commander Reed was speaking about in the widely celebrated ENT series finale.

I'd be okay with the Bonaventure being one of those Warp 7 beauties, as long as it was this version or something similar.

I actually spoke with Meni (Aristomenis Tsirbas) back in the day (website: https://menithings.com/) when that design first came out for the 2006 Ships of the Line Calendar (where that image was used - damn! has it been that long?). Really cool guy. He sent me the only ortho he had of this ship at the time when I asked permission to add it to my schematics site. Amusingly, it originally had a mirrored texture map and the starboard side registry was reversed, as only the port side was visible in the composition. Thankfully, after Eaglemoss got authorization to use it, the map was corrected, upgraded, and given a front view. I'd really like to see his work fully canonized someday. It was an excellent design, IMO.

I would like to see more of that space station someday, too.

I kinda dig it.

Though, if I were to redesign it, I'd give it more of an NX-01 look.

Hmm. That'd be an interesting art project. Kitbash an NX refit into something resembling that version of the Bonaventure.

I did once stumble across a Bonaventure-class redesign that was half-NX, half-Kelvin timeline. I have to say I think it looks rather splendid:

I haven't been able to track down the original artist, if anyone recognises it let me know.

I can’t say definitively, but I was able to trace back the image to this RPG site, which lists both @MadMan1701A and Tobias Richter as the creators of their ship designs here. Haven’t been able to find the image on either of their portfolios, though.

You know, looking closer at it this it could also just be a Photoshop type edit, considering how the gridlines on the saucer don’t seem to match its contours and seem to be put on top as a multiplied layer. So maybe this is more like an image of the TOS style NCC-1000 Bonaventure with Kelvin texture mapped on top of it?

And Will Boimlers's Defiant class...

...has blue bussards, no name or registry markings (31), a phaser strip on the nose, ans it's the first Defiant we see landed

Nope. Looks intentionally unmarked. Anywhere there should be either a name or registry is blank. Red pinstripes only.

I’m really glad they got rid of those stylistic pointy warp housings and made it look more accurate to the original.
