Professional friend I would say. Clear expectations with freedom to be bluntly honest as needed. How close are we talking?
I'm not the one taking "Personal Offense".Okay, let’s knock off the personal comments.
You guys are arguing about a make-believe species!
Let’s get some perspective here.
Thanks

Tell that to Will_Carter
It was never about him on a personal level.
I just have a distrust of the Pakleds after what they did to our StarFleet Officers.
It was bad enough that they tried to kidnap / enslave Geordi La Forge.
But to lose the USS Solvang and her crew due to piracy actions.
To invade the USS Cerritos & try to hijack it.
To frame our beloved Captain Carol Freeman for a crime she didn't commit.
That's getting close to the UFP / StarFleet needing to take measures against Pakled Pirates and be incredibly weary of the Pakled people in general.
The Pakleds deceptions are incredibly dangerous and I'm surprised more drastic actions isn't being done about them.
That's why Douglas Adams used fish.
I'm a bit fuzzy on the latter. It does also double as the final and clinching proof of the non-existence of God. Pity about the zebra crossings though.
Then who, pray tell, gave us those gargantuan flaming letters on the far side of the Quentulus Quazgar Mountains in the land of Sevorbeupstry on the planet of Preliumtarn, which orbits the star Zarss? It does also double as the final and clinching proof of the non-existence of God. Pity about the zebra crossings though.
Perhaps they pulled strings behind the scenes with proxies as camouflage for other things they were doing?
You must not be from New Jersey. In my 'Head Canon' Slang & Profanity is considered childish by most adults (regardless of species), so as people grow into adult-hood, most Slang/Profanity will get abandoned for "Standard Language Use".
It would generally be considered Low Brow to use Slang/Profanity as an adult.
We in the future have no need for that......crap?I worked in an office with Master's and doctorial level staff and there were times we used the "low brow ' language as part of processing challenges.
Nice to know we would not qualify for Starfleet![]()

Profanity usage varies based on many things, and location is one of those. I've worked in an engineering office (sometimes attached to a manufacturing facility) in St Louis and Huntsville, and not once did anyone resort to using strong profanity. Even mild profanity is an extreme rarity. However, I had to go to an office in Philadelphia for 6 months (same company as STL and HSV), and one of the engineering managers there swore about as bad as T'Ana. It honestly made me extremely uncomfortable, and I was very glad to go back to my home office. You must not be from New Jersey.

Most of the places I've worked are generally "Profanity Free" when on the clock.Profanity usage varies based on many things, and location is one of those. The Bombardment of Ellwood during World War II was a naval attack by a Japanese submarine against United States coastal targets near Santa Barbara, California in February 1942. Though the damage was minimal, the event was key in triggering the West Coast invasion scare and influenced the decision to intern Japanese-Americans. The event also marked the first shelling of the North American mainland during the conflict.
Japanese submarines continued to conduct occasional attacks against allied shipping off the U.S. coast during the rest of the war. Sent to American waters in hopes of targeting warships, the submarines managed to sink only a handful of merchant ships, besides conducting a few minor attacks on shore targets. These consisted of a bombardment of Fort Stevens on the Columbia River, an attack on a Canadian lighthouse on Vancouver Island, and two air raids launched from a submarine in an attempt to start forest fires in southwest Oregon.
