Hence the bourbon. It would explain a lot. Or having to grow up watching his mom bang alien ghosts.
This post doesn't exactly convey the tone of asking good faith questions, but I'll give it a try.The interesting thing about the reaction to the Unification short is that we once again get a full display of the double standards and hypocrisy That Segment of fandom engage in. Specifically, the people who want pre-2009 Trek to remain "pure and untainted" by the modern stuff. Hell, there are some who even enter threads for new TOS novels in the Lit forum wanting to know if there's any Disco or SNW references in them, as they "cannot in good conscience read them if there are." Yet, Unification seems to have universal support and praise, even from That Segment despite the presence of two characters from Disco, one in a very prominent role.
It would all depend on how they handled it. If it was Burnham from an alt-future, why not?Though writing this has made me wonder how That Segment would react if Legacy did become a thing, and Michael Burnham appeared in an episode...
Search For Spock must've been hell for you. What with Saavik looking nothing like Kirstie Alley and all. Many people have said they would have far less problems with DISCOVERY / SNW if they hadn't tried to "reinterpret" / reboot the TOS era. The OTOY shorts clearly treat TOS as something that happened, so the only way both TOS and DISCOVERY / SNW could happen would be DISCOVERY / SNW to be an offshoot parallel universe. Which has been argued since 2017.

Though it seems Curtis' Saavik has grown more popular over the decades. It says a lot when the best outcome of a recasting anyone can think of wasn't all that successful.
Saavik's recasting didn't work?It says a lot when the best outcome of a recasting anyone can think of wasn't all that successful.
Nah, what makes you say that?Though it seems Curtis' Saavik has grown more popular over the decades.
You're missing my point intentionally. I liked one peformance better than other, but I still liked both. And I acknowledged that Curtis acted better as a Vulcan even though I preferred Alley's take.Curtis was quite engaging on the D-Con Chamber a few weeks back. I'd never seen her in "real life" so she was a surprise. Pretty much the opposite of Saavik in every level. Yeah I know ACTING!!!!

Now distort this into something you know I didn't mean so you can keep this going.
