Spoilers Star Trek: Picard General Discussion Thread

Sidney and Alandra La Forge were both played by 30 year old actress, but were both Ensigns.

How old do you think the characters where supposed to be since I suspect they would not have been stuck as Ensigns from 22 to 30 in universe.

Recent graduates? First posting to the Titan-A/Starfleet Museum?

When I visited Bulgaria, restaurant reviews for places around the country on Google Maps were filled with critical reviews saying "service under all criticism". Nothing more actionable than that to go on. Just service under all criticism.

This thread is very... service under all criticism.

Or, unless you are stabbed from the back by a Nausicaan, you'll be an Ensign way into your late 50s :p.

No death threats toward the production teams so that's a leg up over TWOK.

Probably in their very early twenties as I imagine they were both born after 2379, when Nemesis is set.

Sigh. No.

Look, I get it’s hard to see something you enjoy getting criticized. I am a big fan of things people hate. I just choose not to engage with people on that topic any longer.

For the most part in this forum, there has been some good constructive criticism about what works and what doesn’t for people with both Picard season 3 and the concept of a plan for Legacy (yeah… I went there). It doesn’t work for some of us. And aren’t we allowed to have our opinions and voice them?

I mean, FFS, there are people in the Voyager forum who are still arguing about “Fury.” Being critical about something means that you care about it that much that you want it to be better and voice opinions. But breaking something down to your dismissive statement here is not helpful either. You want a positive place to talk about Picard or Legacy without criticism, I would imagine there are other places to go. If you stay here, and honestly, while it may be frustrating on occasion, creating a complete echo chamber is boring. Having differing opinions is helpful to having good discussions.

Hell, there are some who even enter threads for new TOS novels in the Lit forum wanting to know if there's any Disco or SNW references in them, as they "cannot in good conscience read them if there are."

I’ve asked these questions before. It isn’t about conscience, as I’ve bought/read DSC and PIC novels. It is just more about fit, at least for me
