Spoilers Star Trek: Picard General Discussion Thread

Archer and Daniels say "End program" and walk out of the 32nd century holodeck as the poker game fades away.

Then we cut to a scene of Benny Russell sitting a office. He is older now and it's the late 60's. Gene Roddenberry walks in. "Your stories are great. Don't worry MR Russell. I will make sure they someday are all made available to the public to see just how great of a writer you are."

I am just glad we got PIC to go out high rather than the absolute disaster S1 and S2 were.
Terry Matalas saved the legacy of Picard, Paramount is too obtuse to have lost him to Marvel.
We need Legacy, not some live action LD knock-off.

What the fandom wants and what the fandom would possibly get, are two very different things.
Exactly why all the 'Companies+' are failing at producing anything that actually sticks.
It's why She-Hulk, Ms.Marvel, The Acolyte, Willow tv series were absolute disasters.
It's why The Marvels and Joker 2 were the biggest flops of the decade on the cinematic side.
If you listen to what some fans say they expect from a possible "Legacy" series, it's laughable.
Oh no, I agree about that. Certain fans have a very warped idea about the IP.
I am trying to say if they struck while the iron was still hot, gave the fans something new with a sprinkle of nostalgia, everyone would be happy.
But that could be Starfleet Academy and we could be in for an absolute surprise of a good show, I am still optimistic, but history has proven me more wrong than right. :sigh:
