Frasier revival

I love a good farce and turning Olivia's disastrous murder mystery night into an actual investigation to save the day was peak levels of farcical Frasier.

Good to see Holly back and how the relationship between her and Frasier have slowly been growing throughout the season in the opener was a nice touch. I'm glad she's sticking around for awhile.

Likewise, I loved Roz is pretty much part of the gang now and loved her watching her verbally smack around the obnoxious professors.

:wah: :wah: :wah:

Even though it was a month early, this was a very sweet Christmas episode. The season tackled the history of Alan and his estranged daughter, Nora, sooner than I expected, but not only am I glad that it did, I love the way they finally bridged their divide. Of course, Frasier's harebrained heist imploded disastrously with Nora telling Alan to cease contacting her and firmly shutting out any hope of reconciliation. Naturally, I love how it was Freddy of all people, upon drunkenly realizing how much the two of them had in common regarding their relationships with their respective fathers, was the one who was able to help her see why it was important to let Alan back into her life...and let him finally meet his granddaughter. Perfection.

I also loved the subplot of David's driven quest to create the perfect gingerbread village and how utterly heartbroken he was when he was forced to throw it all away. I just hope sooner than later people will begin to see the good in David's eccentricities and embrace him for who he is. I also really hope that the show has a long-term play for him and doesn't continue to regulate him to cheap jokes at the expense of the character. The show has already had so many good and even great episodes (such as this one) that I would hate to see it squander David's character in such a manner.

Excellent end to season 2. Really warmed to Alan in this episode.

One tiny little giggle, us brits do NOT generally say happy Christmas, we say merry Christmas.

Nora saying happy Christmas was as realistic as Daphne referring to a fanny when she would really say bum.

Loved the season finale. A fantastic episode. I loved episodes of Cheers and Frasier 1-11 that pulled at the heart strings a bit. This one was no different and did not disappoint. Alan's description of Frasiers heart was spot on. He means well but he ends up accidentally creating more damage. Also loved all the hijinks with the gingerbread village .... 😂

I so hope this show gets a third season.....

I hear if they have a season 3 we might see Sam Malone again. Hopefully a visit to the Cheers bar, much like how they went back to the Radio station in Seattle this season.

Sadly the producers already said out of respect for the legacy of the TV show Cheers.....in universe Cheers is now closed. So if we see Sam if there is a season 3 he won't be the Bar Owner playboy Sam ...

well things can change, it could be seen emerging from a shower.

I tried watching the 1st episode the other day. Couldn't get into it. Seems the old sitcom standard isn't working for me anymore. I really want to watch though because I'm sure there will be some Cheers cameos from time to time as it's in Boston.

I was sorry that they did not continue David and Alan's double act from last Christmas into this season. But David has had some wonderful moments this season anyway.

But Evil David was a treat.

The show gets better. But I guess I see your point. I feel the same way about big special effects films. They are not working for me anymore.

I liked Fraser better than cheers, mostly because of Niles and also I kind of liked how they always had the characters be humbled despite their big egos. Yet still show them as sympathetic and likeable characters because despite the ego's they had heart and compassion for people.

I still feel convinced we will see Niles and Daphne at some point provided it's renewed. Not on a recurring role but maybe a 2 parter.

I'd rather see them than any cheers cast. I'd be happy with some comment at some point that frasier has seen Sam etc. He rang Norm didn't he in one of the early episodes of frasier despite norm nor being seen on screen until much later.

A funny episode could be built around the premise that Sam has become a high-paid sports commentator and starts showing up at a lot of the same celebrity functions as Frasier, embarrassing him with stories from the past.

Count me as another person who enjoyed  Frasier more than  Cheers and I'd rather Niles and Daphne return far more than anyone from  Cheers.

In fact, the only one in interested in seeing again at all is Carla, although admittedly seeing Diane again could be fun. All for the purpose of torturing Frasier.

I don't remember where I saw it but I did see an article awhile ago that suggested that David Hyde Pierce is warming up to the idea of returning if the story is right. So fingers crossed.

I would like to see Niles and Daphne although I hear the actor who played Niles is adamantly against it. But maybe for the right $ and the right script, he can be convinced to do a one off cameo. We've seen it before where actors say "never" and then change their minds. I do think there is a risk of the show relying too much on cameos and memberberries. The show cannot just be about "oh look who is back from Cheers or Frasier".
