Additional Enterprise-D Transfers To DS9?

Riley

Lieutenant Commander
Red Shirt
Which, if any, additional personnel transfers would you have liked to have seen from TNG to DS9?

I think Barclay would have been a great fit for DS9, though not until Bashir matured around the third season or so. I've always loved Barclay's character because he isn't a perfect 24th century human like most of Picard's crew. He'd have been an asset to O'Brien's team and maybe Bashir would have took him under his wing to help with his social awkwardness?

Dr. Selar would have been fun as a short-term transfer, especially with the early Bashir.

It would have been fun to have visits from Dr. Pulaski and Okona as well, and why not add Mot? DS9 must have needed a barber.

I had a lot of time suspending disbelief in the Barclay situation. If it happened today, say someone writing erotic fiction starring themselves and a co-working, either in videos or in prose, and HR found out about it, I think that would be the end of their career at most companies.

Troi because I always thought she was hot.

I mean...because the crew was under so much constant stress that they really could have used a counselor, and her character would have brought great story potential. Yeah, that's the ticket. :)
She was indeed hot, but I'm not sure she'd be able to adjust to harsh frontier life. She liked her chocolate sundaes and workouts with Crusher too much.

Today, sure, but not in the 24th century. They're more understanding and helped Barclay balance his fantasy life with a healthy social life.

Tom Riker is the obvious one. I'll never forgive Kira for leaving him in that Cardassian prison camp!
It would have been nice to tie off that loose end. However, shortly after there was the Klingon invasion of Cardassia, then the Dominion War. No shortage of ways for a prison camp to get shot up.

I'm surprised she didn't guest star as she was clearly up for revisiting the role when offered.

Everyone in-universe seemed to want Troi but I always thought Crusher was the better looking one in TNG.

For me it would have been interesting to see Data in DS9.
Because he was still in progress to develop his character and personality.

Kira didn't "leave" him anywhere. Tom is guilty as sin. He murdered how many innocent Cardassians? Tom got off easy, he deserves to rot in prison for the rest of his miserable life.

Kira disagreed.

"I give you my word. We'll get you out of there, Tom. I promise you that."

Pretty categorical!

I think Troi would have worked well as a recurring character showing up 2 or 3 times per season after Worf joined the show. They developed a close friendship with her becoming the Klingon version of a godmother to Alexander. Worf even said this would make her his sister.
Their romance didn't really work but I would have liked them as close friends and Deanna as a counselor could have been involved in plots without stepping on other character's toes and competing with them for lines.

Honestly, I can't think of any other character from TNG being transferred to DS9, at least not to replace any DS9 character. It was OK with Worf.

However, I would have liked to see some TNG characters as recurring characters, showing up from time to thime.
