What happened to Dafydd ab Hugh?

Yeah, he changed his name from David Friedman to Dafydd ab Hugh for some reason, and later on he went into political web commentary. He basically seemed to fall into the same hole as Diane Carey, Sarah Hoyt, and Kevin J. Ryan.

The Dafydd spelling and the patroynmic (ab = son of; ap is another spelling) are both Welsh, so perhaps he has that heritage and wanted to lean into it. At any rate, his Vengeance was the first Star Trek novel I ever read, and I read it so many times (less money, more re-reading) some scenes are permanently in my head.

There are no other Keith DeCandidos in the world, as far as I know. I just use the middle initials because I'm a pretentious ass.
*That*s something, I also do - out of the same reasons, although I don't think of you as "pretentious ass". I use my middle initial, because it sounds cool. ^^

My three initials are...unfortunate.

Reminds me of a gag out of (if I remember right) Baum's Dorothy and the Wizard in Oz: it seems that the wizard's real name is Oscar Zoroaster Phadrig Isaac Norman Henkle Emmannuel Ambroise Diggs. When he was a circus and vaudeville performer, he went by his first two initials, which spell "OZ," because the rest of his initials spell out something that suggested he was microcephalic. (I dunno: that sounds like it would be a pretty zippy name to go by.)

My middle initials are both "H"; I customarily either use both, or use none.
