"All Good Things" hit differently for me in 1994 than DS9, VOY, and DSC later would. ("
What about ENT?" I didn't watch that series first-run.) When I was watching "All Good Things", I knew it wasn't
really the end because TNG would be going to movies. I read that as the end of one phase of TNG. Not the entire thing. With DS9 and VOY, I didn't expect to see any more. With DSC, I'm
hoping for a TV Movie that will address something very specific, but I'm not holding my breath.
I look at "TNG" as TNG, the movies, and PIC. Just like I look at "TOS" as TOS, TAS, and the movies. But that's only in my opinion. One group of people can have "All Good Things" as the swan song to TNG, another group can have
Nemesis be the swan song, and a third group can have the end of PIC be the swan song. Roddenberry Purists like
TGT can cut it off when Gene Roddenberry died. Whatever works for the individual. We're not the Borg.
TNG ended its TV run with "All Good Things", but I joke that TNG ended its film run on Streaming TV.
The Enterprise-A is my favorite Enterprise, but I still did get a kick out of seeing the Enterprise-D when it came to this particular group of characters. And yes, I also liked seeing the E-D move in ways that wouldn't have been possible in TNG itself.
