Star Trek: Starships Model/Magazine Subscription

I'm not going to do a sub like this ever again. I did that with EM to get a discount on shipping, but the model releases for subscribers were always several months behind main store availability, even after they opened up shipping centers across the pond state-side.
I’m not entirely clear if there is a shipping savings with the subscription, just the subscriber discount, which is a little more substantial than with Eaglemoss.

That being said, I sort of feel like this is a little too much like Eaglemoss, I’m starting to think Fanhome will also suffer some of the same issues down the road. Perhaps, they’re better hedged with their other products, instead of basing the entire company on a sketchy business plan like Eaglemoss.

Yep. My thoughts exactly. This is why I'm holding off. Their business model (pun not intended) is just a little too familiar to what's come before - which was, sadly, a proven failure. I'm not exactly sure if this is something endemic to British business culture or just small business mismanagement in general but, either way, I'm going to grab all these things as quick as I can before SHTF again.

What was that thing about doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different result? Hmm...

Without a subscription, an XL ship will be around $100 USD with shipping & handling to the US. I can imagine what they'd be from a third-party store, and they'd be simply ridiculous from eBay.

Interesting, as the onscreen SS Eleos model isn’t gold, while the Doug Drexler colour schematics of the starship also don’t show a gold hued hull colouring… so it seems odd that the CG model sent to fanhome would be.

That’s the concept CG model, not the final screen used CG model. For example the CG model in the show does not have those escape pods.

Ben says in the comments he'll post renders of the CG model in the future.

There are the flashback shots of the Eleos XII at the beginning of the second episode in neutral lighting. It looks like the gold tint was dialed down in color-correction, but now that I know what I'm looking for, I can definitely see it (I would've assumed the key light just had a warm tint).

I’m confused - that’s not the Texas class. Looks like one of the STO ships.

This is the Texas/Aledo.
Presumably, the text was leaked when it was accidentally attached to the USS Eaves model image.

I’m so excited for the Texas class. It’s lean and looks like the Defiant Pathfinder. I fly one in STO, called the USS Amarillo NA-04.
