What is your personal head canon?

Maybe? The big dinner in Lwaxana's first episode ("Haven")? That fancy spread might have been prepared by a chef since I don't think Picard and Deanna would have wanted to throw a big welcoming party for Deanna's supposed future husband and her mother with nothing but replicated food.

I don't believe they are the same version of the 23rd century, and that all of the time travel, between the late 24th century stuff, then First Contact, the borg drones being left behind, all of the TCW meddling, Daniel's quarters on the NX, and the Romulans in the 21st century on SNW - we are no longer in the same iteration of the timeline that we saw during first-run TOS and TNG, and small details referring to past technology no longer applies.
The Eugenics wars being moved 40 years ahead would have changed a lot.

Hell, according to TNG and FC things were still rough until the early 22nd century. The rebuilding after First Contact made Europe's recovery from World War II seem like a cakewalk.

The Countdown comic leading into the 2009 movie was my head canon until PIC showed that the 2380s of the Federation and the Romulan Star Empire were somewhat different, but even now I like to think that Geordi LaForge worked with Ambassador Spock on the Jellyfish ship that Spock used in the 2009 movie.

And to me the Narada will always be a meshing of Romulan and Borg technology. It explains the colossal size and overwhelming firepower.
