Nice (and relevant!) pun!
I meant to say it (I was in a rush when I posted) but pun very much intended. :D

The trash talk is getting real lol

Anthony Mackie to Tom Holland:

"He said I didn't have a movie. I said, 'Well, you're not 5'11". I got a movie, you're not gonna be 5'11" though! Yes, Tom Holland, fuck you!"

"That's Harrison Ford! Tell Tom Holland I got Harrison Ford!"
Finally had the chance to watch this panel (but not the rest of them yet...) but man, I'm loving the camaraderie of the entire cast, but I especially love the raw chemistry between Anthony Mackie and Harrison Ford.

And yes, the Tom Holland trash talking was hysterical.

In similar light, Entertainment has this great interview with all five of them, which again demonstrates that great camaraderie and chemistry:

One cool thing I want to point out from it: Tim Blake Nelson noted that he had one request after he was asked to return, which was to utilize practical effects to create The Leader's physical deformity. He particularly emphasized the importance of how that effected not just his own performance, but also how his appearance effected those around him.

It will be interesting if Evans returns in the Cap role, and how Disney will twist and squirm attempting to justify what one might assume would be the removal of Mackie as Cap, especially after the entire build up--selling Wilson's case--to represent the American superhero as a black American. Even having two Caps in the same universe would amount to the same perception of undervaluing a black Captain America, much like the vocal part of the MCU fanbase who gnash collective teeth at the idea of Cap being anyone other than a white male.

Evans is definitely not returning to play Cap on a permanent basis. If it happens (it probably will, but I'm less certain now than before) it'll be just for Secret Wars so he can meet a few new Avengers (and FF, etc) and get a good fight scene of both Caps tag teaming on Doom (or someone, at least). Then he'll reiterate his blessing for Sam carrying the shield and fade off back into the multiverse.

I wonder if RDJ would be willing to go full
“Wade Wilson” like Reynolds?

Reynolds really didn't go full Wade Wilson, either. Deadpool (and Doom) should be a hell of lot more hideous than that based on the comics. It was one of the dumber moments of DP 1 when Wade and Weasel spent so much time inventing those incredibly graphic descriptions of his face that honestly doesn't look like much more than a bald guy with an unfortunate skin condition. Not that I mind it so much, since going as disgusting as the character is the comics would be pretty hard to pull off without actively making the audience retch in moments that are supposed to be touching and heartfelt.

I do think Downey would be perfectly up for something on the level of what Reynolds does, though.

I'm a little shocked by all the negativity around Robert Downey Jr. coming back, I thought more people would be happy to have him back.
I've seen one film buff I know lament the decision, because RDJ is one of the great character actors of our generation (cf. Oppenheimer) and some see it as a waste of his talents to have him locked into a single role in an action movie franchise for years at a time.

For myself, it's not so much about Downey coming back as about the implication that they're clinging to Tony Stark as a character, letting him overshadow Victor von Doom rather than letting Doom, the FF, and the new elements of the MCU establish themselves without the baggage of what came before. If that's what they're doing (and I'm hoping it isn't, see below), it feels like playing it safe at the expense of innovation, and that's a bad sign for a mature franchise.

I'm pretty sure they're going to have to have at least on scene where Doom is maskless and recognizable, they're not going to pass up the chance to have the heroes recognize him.
They might, if the way they got RDJ back was by offering him the chance to challenge himself and play a totally different character. Most actors don't like just doing the same unvarying thing forever. They like to take on new challenges and exercise their craft. I'd imagine RDJ walked away from Stark because he felt he'd done all he could with the role. So I'm not sure just coming back to do a slight variation on the same role would appeal to him. Making himself unrecognizable, creating a totally new character that isn't supposed to be a variant of Tony Stark in-universe, would be a more interesting challenge, and seems more likely to appeal to a performer of his talent.

For all we know, they're doing it for cheap mostly to hang out with their friends.
Lulz - it's TRUCK After TRUCK filled with money.

But bringing back key members of the old gang won’t come cheap. Sources say Marvel is plunking down $80 million for Anthony and Joe Russo to direct “Avengers: Doomsday” and “Avengers: Secret Wars” and “significantly more” for Downey to tackle uber-villain Doctor Doom in the two tentpoles.

Interesting theory. Still, bringing Evans back to any degree only lends fuel to the "Never Mackie" fire set by some since the passing the shield scene in Endgame and certainly throughout Falcon and the Winter Soldier. That, and the nature of the multiverse would keep the "Bring Back Evans-Cap" cries active. From an in-universe perspective, I believe both Wilson and Barnes have found some sort of closure with Rogers no longer being in their lives (probably dead, if we take Sam's "Steve's gone" line from the streaming series to imply death), and each has redefined themselves in the process to come out of the shadow of Rogers.

I’m surprised that nobody has yet noted that RDJ has played 4 totally different characters in his recent Tv show The Sympathiser.
I'm surprised no one has mentioned "Troipic Thunder"

Is that REALLy a large contingenicy, or a bunch of outraged people circulating the view of a very small minority.

I only know the 2 Secret Wars series in the 80's... my understanding is that the 2015 one was a mutliversal war. If so -- how were the cameos then? If Evans appeared, I can see him going out (like Captain Carter in Dr. Strange)

And back to Dr. Doom -- am i the only one thinking that this is a variation (pun intended) of Kang DYnasty.... which was "previewed" to involve at least 3 different Kangs? So now, instead of multiple Kangs by the same actor, we could have different actors playing the variations of Doom. Hopefully they will avoid the idea that RDJ's Doom will be Tony with an alternate history, but rather just a look alike, like Chris Evans.

Have we seen for sure that RDJ will be in the Fantastic FOur movie as THAT Doom?
Here's my crazy thinking: RDJ's Doom will be killed by the "real" Doom, and that situation will have that Doom be a "hero" for saving the multiverse from RDJ's potential to destroy everything (or at least the MCU).

I don't follow the dates of when these new movies are released, but if Doom is not introduced via the Fantastic Four first, before Avengers, that will confirm in my mind that casting RDJ was indeed just a cash-grab. Doctor Doom doesn't exist without Reed Richards. They are each other's shadow. If the MCU tries to change that, veer away from what's true about the character, RDJ won't really be playing Doom at all. Just one more guy in a metal mask.

Evans coming back for any reason would be yet another desperate death rattle for the Superhero film genre.

There's precedent in the comics. Old man Steve as a member of Shield while Sam as Cap does his thing. If they're simply following the lead of the comics, it's not desperate but just using the source material as guidance. Like they do for any of their stories.

Remember, Black Panther and Spider-Man were both introduced in Civil War before their solo movies, and Thanos got years of setup. Introducing a character ahead of their focus movie doesn't mean they're being divorced from their proper setting, it just means it's an interconnected universe and they like to set things up ahead of time, since it avoids everything having to be an origin story.

I honestly have to say I'm very interested to see how they pull off this RDJ/Doom thing, this is probably the most interest I've had in Marvel in some time
