The unnecessary reboot/remake of the week thread

I must admit that I never gave it a chance because it always struck me as a poor man’s version of Sherlock.

I was snooty for a long time but once I started watching Elementary I loved it. I think Miller was a great Holmes and Liu made for a very good Watson. I genuinely really miss those guys. Even in the duffer episodes (I mean it was a 20+ episode a season police procedural, some episodes were better than others) they were always eminently watchable. The only misstep I felt was introducing Kitty and splitting up Holmes and Watson for part of the (I'm going to say second?) season, but they seemed to realise this was a mistake thankfully.

Whether you're a Holmes fan or not I heartily recommend giving it a go.

As far as I recall there'd been a tragedy and Holmes had failed to save Irene Adler*, I can't remember if he was just persona non grata in London or actually legally barred from England (He and Joan do return late on in the show's run).

* Of course Irene was alive and well, and was also really Moriarty!

Ryan Murphy and the creators of "Will & Grace" are teaming up to produce what is best described as a "Gender Swapped 'Golden Girls'" staring Matt Bomer and Nathan Lane, for HULU.
I’d actually give that a shot maybe…

Totally not needed, but I’d love to see a remake of the Dirty Dozen done by the guys who did John Wick.

There's scuttlebutt of a Devil Wears Prada 2 where Meryl Streep's character would be at the end of her career at a time when the publishing industry is plummeting, and goes head-to-head with a now-super successful Emily Blunt.

Not a huge Ryan Murphy fan but Lane and Bomer would be a great team.

A European prodction company is planning on remaking 'A Fistful of Dollars'; and if that's successful, they plan on doing 'For a Few Dollars More', and 'The Good, The Bad and The Ugly'.

The story going around is that CBS rejected a Donnie Wahlberg Blue Bloods spinoff and are taking their time to come up with something.

Everyone thinks a young Frank prequel is what they really want but they don’t want to pay the necessary costs to make a period piece.

I was going to make a joke about they could share resources with NCIS Origins until I remembered a young Frank series would likely take place in the 60s or 70s.
