I was standing in line at the bank and an instrumental was playing over the speakers. It took a moment but the it clicked; a "Muzak" version of AC/DC "Shoot to Thrill".

I absolutely adore these vintage style versions. There are a lot of these online from different groups, artists.
INXS, "Need You Tonight/Mediate"
Redbone, "Come and Get Your Love."
Been a fan of this kind of retro music for about twenty years, when German pop star Sasha did a concept album of 50s rock 'n roll style covers of more recent pop songs as the stage character Dick Brave (with his band being The Backbeats):
His album was a pretty big hit, inspiring a band he was friends with, Boppin' B, to do an album with similar covers of Sasha's own songs:
That's Sasha being tied up there at the end of the video.
There was a second Dick Brave & The Backbeats album, as well, and these albums inspired a whole band, The Baseballs, who have released several albums over the past decade and a half with these kinds of retro cover versions:
And, of course, thanks to YouTube I since have found The Postmodern Jukebox, who don't limit themselves to just one singular style (see first embedded video for their most recent release).
That's really cool.
In the game BioShock Infinite they made 1920s style covers of modern songs and that's what got me hooked on this style
