Okay, I really need to start watching Old Who because when it was revealed that it was Sutekh I was like "who the fuck is that?"
Same here. I watched a lot the classic shows but Sutekh never stuck with me.

I throughly enjoyed this episode, first one this season. It wasn't perfect but having so many red herrings and setting up an anticipated plot lines which suddenly turned left. I thought that the software/OS that Susan was going to give to the world was going to be the big plot pivot but that now seems to be moot now.

Fourteen is exactly where he was at the end of The Giggle: living with the Nobles. He even got referenced in this episode when Fifteen asked Rose how her Uncle was doing.

So there *was* a line. I assumed I missed one, so there it was. It’s still a bit weak sauce, but at least RTD realised at some point.

I could swear that's Fourteen in the first bit of next week's finale trailer.

I have a question though? Has anyone listened to the Sutekh stuff from Faction Paradox and the Bernice Summerfield audio series? Doesn't this episode kinda contradict those?

No like the vast majority of people which is why they don't take that stuff into account.

My guess is that Ruby is a paradox and it's her delivering the baby. We can't see her because 73 yards demonstrated her ability to hide from analysis.

Not those, but I do have 4th Doctor adventures Kill the Doctor! and The Age of Sutekh on my back-up drive.
The person who creates Rene.net as a plot point for someone having voice in her head is... similar.
So, smash up the mummies and destroy the software?

It also possibly demonstrated, given the blurb, that Ruby’s mum, who is also ruby, will save the day by telling Sutekh to sod off or whatever it is she mumbles at people. “I see your Twitter likes….”

I haven’t, but to be fair, contradiction is kind of Faction Paradox’s thing.

It doesn't, though. But then I wouldn't be surprised if someone in 1982 complained that the Fifth Doctor spent too much time on the Eternals and the Mara etc and not enough time revisiting the Zarbi and the Voord because the show's latest producers just didn't care about the history of Doctor Who, and they proved they hate the show with the way they completely contradicted how regeneration works with this weird Watcher business.

I was surprised to realize a few years ago that she's the only one of the 1963-1989 companions who's younger than me. Sophie Aldred is nearly two years older than Langford.
Exactly, more Zarbi stories, or we RIOT!

Been a drooling fan of "Pyramids of Mars" and Sutekh in particular since I first saw the serial in 1983 (I Think?) on PBS. A few years ago talented (if volatile) digital modeler named Dodger offered an Anubis figure with morphs to depict Set. Playing with the materials settings of the wardrobe and adjusting the bends of the neck, head and ears, I was able to achieve a reasonable likeness of DW's infamous Phaester Osiran. The interior is a purchased DAZ assets, the sarcophagus by Kirynn and the servitor robots derived from .STL meshes. I've hunted high and low for a polygon based mesh of Sutekh's mask, but so far ziltch. (Of course, I think the helmet was tied to his binding and once freed, he removed it. But I always thought he looked far more impressive with the mask than his bare face.) So my search continues.

Can anybody do a frame grab showing 14? I have watched this clip many times but my 66 year old eyes can't spot him
