Random Thoughts...or...What's on Your Mind?

$10 Million right now in your hand, but there's a catch:

- A snail is chasing you for the rest of your life and if it touches you, you die a terrible death

- The snail cannot be killed

- It knows your location at all times

- Its only purpose is to find you

Are you taking the money? ;)

Hell Ya! I'd also trap that snail in a lead box, weight it down and toss it into the Mariana Trench. Without touching the snail, of course.

The amount of people who are voting for the far right, and the amount of people who don't give a fuck and are going to vote for no one are alarmingly high.

If the far right and the center right make a coalition we're doomed! They are talking about pushing women under 30 to have children, and to open a number to report teachers that are woke because they should teach knowledge, not push an agenda, because the far right don't believe in gender! And they might want to make same sex adoption more difficult.

And people don't give a fuck because they are going to get rid of "filthy, job stealing immigrants who get government handouts while our own people are left alone". You are going to regret it! When we have a government and those rules will take effect, I predict we're going to get #notmygoverment. It is YOUR government! YOU wanted this, YOU ignored the writing on the walls! YOU shot in your own feet because you thought it would get better.

The worst part is that I know people who are going to be affected by those rules: a woman who is under 30, a gay couple and my Muslim steph father. And I genuinely don't understand why they're going to vote for a party that doesn't give a shit about them.

And I'm worried about the future of my country and other countries who will get far right government. It feels like I'm in the movie V for vendetta, I recently re-watched it and kept replaying the same moment: Valerie's letter.

One line stood out for me: "I remember how different became dangerous" once people realize voting far right isn't the answer and will only make things worse I'm getting a tattoo with a similar line: being different is dangerous. I know it sounds edgy but I don't care.

I also re-watched the LOTR trilogy, I have gained a deeper respect for Frodo's and Gandalf conversion of "I wish none of this happened. And Sam's speech of "it's like in the great stories Mr Frodo" also hit different now. Wow, this got long sorry guys and gals and everyone else

Paid a bathroom restoration business big bucks for shower repair and recaulking, which a professional definitely needed to take care of because it was leaking. Later I noticed there was cracking between the tub and floor so I did the caulking myself, and I have to say my caulking looks significantly better than the employee's caulking. Now I overdid mine and have to clean it up a little after it dries, but it still looks nicer and smoother.

One of the things I have discovered over the course of building my house is things that I think are really difficult, and require a professional, do not always. My parents have had really bad experiences with plumbers, as well as my wife and I, so learning how to caulk, and do these repairs myself has been essential because the professionals we have paid to do things have done very poorly.

My mom and I had one of the scariest moments we've ever had out hiking to today. We were walking through a rockier part of the park where go out to see the donkeys, and we almost stepped on a rattlesnake. I was walking behind her and I noticed something move just a few inches off to the side, I saw that it was a snake, and then I saw the rattle on the end of it's tail. Once I realized what it was I jumped back and yelled "OH SHIT, RATTLESNAKE", and just as I did it started to rattle and curled up, preparing to strike. I think it if had taken me even a few seconds longer, it would have bitten me right in the calf.

Yikes!
Glad it didn’t go that way!!!
Good Eyes!

Scary! Glad you're ok.

This is why a friend of mine on a ranch wore leather boots. He got hit in the calf by one and turned around and killed it.

Thank God you avoided that. I've never been bitten by any snake myself, but I hate all of them just the same. I can't even stand the sight of them, which is tough because one of my favorite film series is Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts. So, there's a few moments where I have to close my eyes - its just too much. Interestingly though, I can watch the end of Chamber of Secrets without a problem, because I saw how they built the giant head of the basilisk for that sequence.

Trying to get it straight:

The circus is the Greatest Show on Earth.
The Calgary Stampede is the Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth.
And the College World Series is the Greatest Show on Dirt!

I like snakes, and my biggest disappointment with the whole situation is that I didn't get a better look at our rattly friend. I will admit though, it has made me a bit more paranoid about watching where I walk more carefully.
The last few times I went to see a couple of the horses I visit on my walks they refused to come over to see me, and I finally figured out why this morning, they don't like the hat I've been wearing. I finally remembered to take it off before I got to their yard this morning, and they came right over when I stopped.

. . . The circus is the Greatest Show on Earth.
Specifically, that's the slogan of the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus. The show ran for 146 years before it ended in May 2017 due to dwindling attendance figures, changing tastes in family entertainment, and growing public concern about the treatment of captive performing animals. However, the circus is back this year -- minus the animals.
