I can't think of a single reason to remember Lynch's Dune in a good way.Although I really loved both new movies, I'm finding them 'forgettable' in a way that Lynch's Dune never has been. That says something about which version I truly like better.
I can't imagine that. The characters pop for me far more in this version. The only thing I like about Lynch's Dune is some of the art design and ships.Although I really loved both new movies, I'm finding them 'forgettable' in a way that Lynch's Dune never has been. That says something about which version I truly like better.
The Baron's homosexuality is noticeably absent from the Villeneuve version. I presume this would be for political reasons.
I don't think it's political, they just probably didn't want to feed into the harmful, damaging stereotypes that previous versions of the character fell into. The Baron's homosexuality is noticeably absent from the Villeneuve version. I presume this would be for political reasons.
Did the previous adaptations really go into the Baron's sexuality? I don't recall any indication one way or the other in the Lynch movie, while the miniseries left it somewhat subtle with all the Baron's servants being young men. Okay, the servant who Feyd tried to get to poison him during sex was male, but I think that's as overt as they got.
And the whole dead male servant in his bed.The 80s version never says anything, and any scenes that do imply it (he kills an angel-faced flower boy or leers at Sting in his metal speedo) could just be chalked up to him being a nutbag.
The Miniseries again doesn't really get into it explicitly either except for how his servants are all shirtless healthy men and calling Feyd a "Beautiful Boy" once.

Could you give any info as to what this video is about rather than just dumping a link ?Apologies if this has already been posted, but I needed to post this, as what was said here annoys me, and might annoy others here too:
Oh, they're still related. So, do we assume that in the Villeneuve version Chani and Kynes are not related?
Basically put, the person who made this video despises the version of Chani in the two movies, and she's been raked over the coals for it online, because people believe that she's blasting a black woman for how this character is shown in the movie.Could you give any info as to what this video is about rather than just dumping a link ?
Always looks like people are just trying to drive clicks or an agenda with these posts.
Of what? Fran Kerbert?Frank Herbert, being a virulent homophone
